Bush Says He'll Find Out What Went Wrong
give me a bloody break.

words fail me.

WASHINGTON

Buffeted by criticism over the federal response to Hurricane Katrina, President Bush said Tuesday he will oversee an investigation into what went wrong and why _ in part to be sure the country could withstand more storms or attack.

Bush also announced he is sending Vice President Dick Cheney to the Gulf Coast region on Thursday to help determine whether the government is doing all that it can.

"Bureaucracy is not going to stand in the way of getting the job done for the people," the president said after a meeting at the White House with his Cabinet on storm recovery efforts.

26. He didn't even have to do that, he just needed to pay attention...
...to a threat to the nation, specifically a frikkin big storm!

Everything that needed to be done could have been done in loco, it just didn't make his "to do" list until it was a big enough mess that it was making him look bad!

8. Bush is pretending the investigation is his idea ?
Once he found out it was going to be investigated with or without him, he beats Lieberman and Collins to the punch, and pretends it is his idea. If it was left to him, nothing would ever be investigated. But this is a good example of how this WH works and they try to stay in front of the story, or in this case, the investigation. But, make no mistake, this is not Bush's idea.

15. I think you left out a few words. It should read
"Bush also announced he is sending Vice President Dick Cheney's corpse to the Gulf Coast region on Thursday to help determine whether the government is doing all that it can to make sure Halliburton capitalizes on this."

24. Has anything ever "gone Wrong" for Bush in his life?
Everything seems to "go right" for Bush. Drug addiction? Alcohol abuse? Failed business ventures? Family friendships with terrorists? All of it seems to have worked out perfectly for George. Besides that, "what went wrong" is passive. He should be investigating what HE did wrong. No one ever investigates "what went wrong" and ends up pointing the finger at themselves. George has never taken personal responsibility for anything in his life and I don't expect him to start now.
