CNN Headline just played the Barbara Bush remark, and EDITED it. |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 11:53 AM by Gabi Hayes
Guess which part they edited out?
that's right....the part that Editor and Publisher didn't include in their story; the same part that CNN regular didn't include earlier this morning when they quoted her the same way EandP did.
what were those words, exactly, that were edited out? there's a thread about it from last night, and they included her fear that some of those awful refugees might actually STAY in Texas
pretty interesting the way the media insists they must whitewash her words, even as they point them out
BTW, fatBar's remarks were played today without any comment at all...zip in and zip out, without any sort of context at all, and were hard to understand as presented.
no discussion whatsover
EDIT: just heard Al Franken play the unedited clip, and she said ''which is sort of scary,'' within the context of this quote:
"What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality," she said during a radio interview with the American Public Media program 'Marketplace.' "And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."

7. that's exactly what I MEAN.....the edited part is not in your snip |
|
she expressed fear, "quaintly," that refugees would actually stay in Texas
it's not in your quote
also, the clip they played on TV was OBVIOUSLY edited
two clips; two entirely different volumes. clearly snipped together
