Evacuees in undies when they left the Dome---towns would not let them
stop at any WalMarts along the way for clothes.

Crowder drove one of the one thousand buses sent by the government to evacuate the city. He arrived at the Superdome Thursday afternoon. "What we were going to get were homeless people, these were the people who got into the superdome and they were not in good shape."

Crowder says some were sick and all of them were filthy. Many were separated from family and upset, especially after he drove them out of town. "When we left New Orleans, they had not seen the damage, they didn't know what it was like, they would say, they would just scream.”

Even though some of the passengers were only wearing underwear - the only time they stopped - at a Wal-Mart, the bus was surrounded by police. "It turns out all these small towns were just overwhelmed with these people and they thought we were letting them off and they made us put them back on the bus, they told us in no uncertain terms to put them back on the bus." Once the buses arrived in Houston, there were so many people; it took 12 hours to get them unloaded.

3. Why didn't they have a NG on each Bus?

They are letting all this happen on purpose.
There is NO WAY that Walmart would allow it's patrons to turn away WHITE's.

RACISM! RACISM! RACISM!

5. Absolutely. It's because those states are 'red'
That's why the buses were unloaded in Texas, that well-known 'BLUE' state. :eyes:

No divisiveness or stereotyping here, thank goodness. Right? Thought so.

7. My sister's church (small town, N. Fla) is across the street from
a shelter. Church members went across the street, gathered up the evacuees(about 40) and took them to the church where they had been collecting clothing. Everyone got new stuff still in the packages except for one lady who picked up some pre-owned maternity clothes.

8. some in shelters were wearing only plastic garbage bags.
Red Cross drop-off in Orange, TX told my cousin this when she tried to deliver used clothes - but Red Cross doesn't accept used clothes. I'm sure they all have clothing now! But there's no end to the tales of sheer lunacy.
