My LTTE: I blame the media
Here's an LTTE I've written. Does anyone have a big list of media addresses I can just paste in?

I blame the media. Yes, you. Newspapers, TV networks, cable news services, you are all answerable for the death and destruction that has once again visited our shores.

Way back in 1999 anybody with two brain cells and a modem knew George Bush’s resume was iffy. You knew it too, but you praised his statesmanship and intellect.

You knew the 2000 election was rigged, but you didn’t report it.

You knew there were serious questions surrounding 9/11, but you didn’t ask them.

You knew that the reasons to invade Iraq were lies, but you simply retold them.

You knew the 2004 election was rigged, but you didn’t report it.

While Bush and his cronies bullied, stole, and lied, you sheltered them with your own lies of omission.

You have abdicated your responsibility to speak truth to power and because of that America’s reputation lies in ruins, a major city is destroyed and tens of thousands of your countrymen are dead.

Being a mouthpiece for the Republican Party probably paid you very well. Was it worth it?

5. Terrific!
Although I can see one or two editorial types looking at the last paragraph and wondering if they can still get some Armstrong Williams-type scratch for continuing to serve as local megaphone to the Mighty Republican Wurlitzer.

9. I agree whole-heartedly
I've been thinking about the media turn-around. Maybe they saw the writing on the wall and thought it best to distance themselves. Too little, too late.

10. For all the workers in the media
who go along and get along with the general propaganda work. Suddenly something is too much and news actually gets reported, passions finally expressed, accountability and other staples of real journalism rise from thier morbid well heeled swamp...

What did you expect? Some mild headache or nausea and a Disneyland of conservative money flows? On Monday morning do you pssobly look out with fear, as do most Americans, that for all your righteousness you may have ended your "news career" by pissing off the crime bosses? Does that brief shining moment of the consequences of bastardizing your profession to enable the Coup mean only that your are outed and clueless what to do with your sudden treading into reality and conscience?

Are you being heeled and cooled off back into the soothing spin where Bush will actually be allowed to capitalize- the absolute madness of it all- upon your impotent belated cries?

I still hear the same old radio crap from CNN, the same sliding away, sliding away from the point of it all, never mind finger pointing, the same slick repetition of Rove directives and harmful vignettes and cruel memes. The organization has not changed one whit for all the outbreaks of humanity in the field or in the pundit rooms.

Waiting, just waiting to let Bush help them evade the real responsibility. Removing Bush from the WH.
