What you did for the least of us
You did for all of us.

I can't get image of the young man on the bridge with his dog on Oprah, refusing to get on the bus without his dog. That was pure love.

I haven't stopped crying since I saw that.

Then to see Nate Burkes telling the man that they had found a place for his dog and that they will keep him safe. That was pure love.

Then to see the young man (age 24) and his dog (age 14)who had probably never been separated, reunited. That was pure love.

I wish that I was computer savvy enough to capture that picture of him talking to his dog and put it side by side with a picture of bush playing his guitar while New Orleans drowns. If anybody can, please do. Just add the caption "What you did for the least of us"

1. Thank you
for telling us about it. I stay out of the pet threads because it disturbs me so to see people separated from them or poor animals left abandoned. I have prepared for disaster with my pets in mind. I could not leave them.

3. Neither could I, never
My family includes 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 horses and 1 goat. I too have had to prepare for that as well. I could never leave them behind. All day when I looked into their eyes, I kept telling them that.

4. Damn, you sound like me!
3 dogs, 3 cats and 7 horses. I am not sure how I would move 7 horses since I only have trailer space for 5 but I would manage. Thankfully I do not have to worry about hurricanes in Kansas or floods since I am above the river flood plain just barely but enough. It is the grass fire situation I worry about.

I would love to have a couple of goats. Maybe someday I will.

2. I cried at that one also.
And I am also not good at doing pictures, so hopefully one of the computer wizards on DU can figure out how to do it.
