My mom called me tonight, very upset at the relief effort. |
|
She's been following this via CNN, MSNBC, FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS since it happened.
She's beside herself with grief over this and wants to open her house to a family but they live so far out in the country that it would be hard for someone to work on finding a job and getting around.
But, what got me the most was she called * a "Shittin' ass bastard!"
My mom...the staunch Catholic!

1. I don't understand how any Catholics can support Bush |
|
Bush belongs to the puritan cult of christianity that despises catholics above all other religions even islam.
On the other hand though I do believe that lots of catholics out there understand this fact/

And told that Bush will stop Gay Marriage and other librul social things from going forward. The Bushies appeal to Catholics on abortion as well. As with all other groups, they burrow in, convince some CAtholics that the Dems are no longer with them and that the GOP is. It's the same game plan they use for all other groups: lie, deceive, divide.

3. But one of the foundations of the Catholic Church is serving the poor. |
|
There is no evidence that this administration ever had any intention of doing this. Any thinking Catholic would not have voted based on abortion, but based on how the candidate intended to deal with poor and working class people.

These two issues and nothing else. The way the Preachers, Priests, etc.. were telling it.. A vote for a Democrat is the same as agreeing with homosexuality and Abortion. And if such a person got elected because Ya voted for them.. it's the SAME as if the voter is a homosexual and a murder (abortion).
If your extreamly religus and you truely believe those two items are sins. Sins that will not allow you to go to heaven, this is a big deal. They used "this" to make these people feel that they would be sinning by their vote.
As you can see, it works.
Also, something that DEMOCRATS constantly fail to do. "Keep it simple STUPID."
When Democrats talk about issues, it goes over MOST peoples heads. It's to complicated. The republicans don't DEFEND based upon intellectial report. They keep it simple. They joke and they "poo poo" the issue. And they do it on a level that People can relate and understand. Then they turn it to a topic like ABORTION. Heated and HOT and people don't go back to the other.
So these voters who were TOLD that if they voted for KERRY they were going to HELL, because they would be advocating abortion... Don't realize that by the SAME REASONING.. they are advocating EVERYTHING Bush does. Including the actions of this week.
