Got into it with a Bushbot at the blood bank today

It was after I finished my donation. I sat down at the table to enjoy my cookies and juice and this guy - about 60 - was already sitting there.

He started by saying something about so many people needing blood right now and I agreed. Then he blamed Clinton for "this whole mess".

"Excuse me," I said, "what mess? Bush is the one that cut the funding to Corps of Engineers."

"Oh no, it was the tree huggers who fought to keep the levees from being built up."

I pointed out that it was the "tree huggers" who wanted to protect wetlands which would have protected New Orleans and that Clinton had very strict rules about wetlands - all of which Bush has repealed.

"But it's Clinton's fault that no one in the world respects us. He cut the military to the bare bones and he did nothing about the first trade center bombing."

I let him have it then. Reminded him everyone loved us on 9/12/2001 - now they hate us, that Clinton's people told Bush's that Al Qeda would take up most their time, and it was Bush who ignored the August 6, 2001 memo and then lied us into a war.

He left them. The receptionist at the desk thanked him for his donation... I left a few minutes later and everyone working there smiled, said good-bye, thank you and hurry back to me (a couple of the other donors smiled at me.) The receptionist stopped me to schedule my next donation....She had not done that with the Bushbot.

Anytime someone does not hit an idiot like that, I am in awe. I hope to God I never get infected with any "Repuke" blood. It might be contagious or something. The first symptom--a marked decline in IQ, followed by a reduction in genitalia and brain size.

Remind them it was Papa Bush who gutted the military because the cold war was over and there wasn't any need, in his opinion.

Great Job for saying what needs to be said.

The sad part about it is.. he thought no one would call him on what he was saying. He has NO CLUE that his thinking is such a minority. And it's all because we DON'T tell it to their faces when they spout stupid stuff.
