A lady who works for me said today..."Do you believe the disgusting mess those people left at the Superdome? What is wrong with them?" Duh! After picking myself up off the floor I explained to her what was "wrong with them".
This lady is educated and bright. It is so depressing. I am thinking about changing my user-name to "I give up".

7. Having been through hurricanes,

I know that toilets don't flush well when the sewer system is already under seige from heavy rains and flooding. The water that comes out of the pipes can get contaminated as well. And there is no place for garbage if the trucks can't get through the streets. And this is for little storms, much less Cat 4 or 5.

Did she know that people could barely see in there because there was no electricity? That it isn't possible to hold one's bladder for 5 days? Some people need a reality check by going out in the wilderness for a few days and seeing what doing with nothing really menas.
