and that after a lot of shrieking and howling they'll tear each other apart.

11. Here is the most damning part of it
Michael Brown, director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, sought the approval from Homeland Security Secretary Mike Chertoff roughly five hours after Katrina made landfall on Aug. 29. Brown said that among duties of these employees was to ''convey a positive image'' about the government's response for victims.

people are dying and Brown is playing a PR game...

It's breaking news! I know one thing, the Democrats better fight these demons or they will try and pin everything on Louisiana's mayor (NOLA) and governor...including the problems in Mississippi and Alabama.

17. Bush said in a cabinet meeting today that he, himself, would lead the
investigation.

I feel much better already knowing that Bush is taking charge.

8. Who the fuck is Edd Henry? If it wasn't for Arron Brown dragging it out
of him he would have intentionally left out very important information about that memo and seem to me to repeating republican talking points before Arron delved deeper. But it was like pulling teeth.

14. A bit unfair -- Henry seemed really fired up about it
and I did not detect any sympathy for Delay in what he said. Aaron had to calm him down a bit and draw things out because Henry was a bit too excited.

20. No fuck that. Henry was content with ending his report with incomplete
information. You watch the tape again. If Arron had not brought up what the memo said he Henry wasn't going to say shit but an short version that left out key parts of it.

15. About the Blame Game
If they could logically lay it on the Democratic leadership they wouldn't be screaming about "Blame Game". They are screaming this because they can't deflect the damage to others. Think about it.

When they can't screech anything but "don't blame" you KNOW they ARE to blame and they know it. Good point.

27. Close. See Magellan #13 above.
Two pronged attack. "Blame game" if we do it, all the while doing it themselves. Had 2 freeps come in my office this morning leading off the same way; "blame game", then "mayor and busses" The number of unused busses rose to 2000 by the end of the day. They march in lock-step.

19. Anderson Cooper adding more fuel to the fire - the right hand...
has no idea what the left hand is doing. Bodies still floating in the water. Where was the help for the helpers....local support only. No one is picking up the bodies. THIS IS A FAILURE NOT OF INDIVIDUALS BUT OF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM.

The entire Bush administration should go down because of this. It needs to happen for the very future of our country.

22. Anderson Cooper essentially called DeLay a Liar, if the people
he are speaking to are to be trusted...which of course they are. This is simply stunning. We are seeing the result of the criminal acts of a corrupt administration.

30. Cooper was interviewing a local volunteer psychiatrist - told him
that the local and state people who were there from the start were the heroes...that the Federal people were very late to the game, which completely disputed DeLay's evil comments.

26. How about this:
Republicans call it The Blame Game.

Democrats call it The Accountability Hour.

That's what I think we need to be saying. Of course, the rethugs don't want to be accountable either, but I think using "accountability" takes it up a notch from "blame", and we take ourselves out of the "he started it" "no she started it" endless merry-go-round.

Just a thought

33. How about his...
When they say "blame game"

We respond: "Accountability is NOT a game"

They can be reminded that THEY have been the ones stressing accountability (remember "No Child Left Behind"?).

AND

If it's not a time for a "blame game" why have their people been in the news repeatedly "shifting blame" to state/local (and ONLY Louisiana, or rather state and local if they're democrats).
