I think it has more to do with the state having a Democratic governor and NO having a democratic mayor, and the fact that most of the people in trouble voted democratic. The RWingers don't let anything preempt their political goals. If most black or poor people voted republican, they'd have probably paid more attention. This in no way lessens the cravenness of their inaction.

and just as obvious, Malloy doesn't believe what he is saying (if he's calling it ethnic cleansing).
The question is, why is Malloy saying this? What purpose does it serve? Entertainment?
