when there was a nearly brain-dead woman who was going to be taken off a feeding tube down in Florida. Hell, the Senate had a midnight session, and the Chimp made a special trip (didn't he cut short another vacation?) to sign the bill that was passed. Dang.
But 10's of thousands of perfectly viable black people dying in Louisiana? Oh, no. Not them. Can't take any time out for them. It's not even the federal government's responsibility.

Bush left instructions that he be awakened in the middle of the night to sign the Terri Schiavo bill.
But he waited two days to announce that he was cutting his five-week vacation short by ONE day to head back to DC to deal with this crisis.
