People from all over the US went to NO to help.
A proportion were not allowed to help, a proportion stood around in the face of lack of coordination and the litany of other problems generated by an infrastructure woefully unprepared.

All these people will return to their home states and start telling stories. These stories will spread and will have an impact that CNN doesn't.

Yes, the city and the state have some responsibility, BUT the common thread is FEMA. People will wonder how prepared FEMA is to help THEM should the need arise.

GW* and those republicans up for re-election in 2006 must be very afraid.

1. My sister is from Nevada, and she went to help.
Haven't gotten any updates yet. She volunteered to do whatever she could in the area through her church and the Salvation Army.
