RE: Supposed shooting at helicopters from NOLA
I was thinking--if I were stranded in New Orleans at the height of the flooding, and I saw helicopters flying OVER and PAST me and mine, and I had a gun.....

Wouldn't I fire a shot to get the copter's attention? Not to kill or wound or hit the copter, but just in the air, thinking that the copter was missing me?

Of course, we know for whatever reasons the copters on those days weren't picking people up, but on the ground they might have thought, "If only they knew we were here, quick get their attention..."

Any report of a chopper actually hit by gunfire?

1. I think it's been reported
That at least *some* gunfire was to attract attention. Same with some of the fires.

But it's all good fodder for the "roving gangs" rumour mill.

3. the only reports I've seen..
.. on MSM, say that a helicopter was fired on and they have a suspect in custody, and the violence and murder in NOLA centers is why there's such a strong, armed military presence.

Ugly. It only makes sense that people were trying to get attention.

2. There was no report about this at the FAA nor at the NTSB. According
to regulations, any even concerning planes and helicopters have to be reported. No such report exists.

4. What gets me is this -
No copters were hit, first point.

If they weren't hit, how did the occupants know, with all the noise in a copter, that they were being fired upon?

The one report I had encountered said that someone fired from an apartment.

I think that they would only know it if they actually saw the person pointing the gun at them and the flash from the muzzle . . .
