MSNBC.com: Bush Struggles To Find Right 'Tone' on Disaster
Jesus he's still doing damage.

Bush struggles to find the right tone on disaster

Speed and tone of comments have called for day-to-day damage control

WASHINGTON - The Bush White House is known for its ability to remain in control of its message and image, sliding out of crises with barely a scratch. Not this time.

<snip>

Even as Katrina was bearing down on the Gulf Coast that Sunday night and early Monday, Aug. 28-29, and the national hurricane center was warning of growing danger, the White House didn’t alter the president’s plans to fly from his Texas ranch to the West to promote a new Medicare prescription drug benefit.

*By the way, this article details his complete ineptitude in dealing with this with the public, dispelling all rumors that he was 'begging and pleading with Blanco to let him send help' 'behind the scenes', or whatever had been said in a recent thread.

3. He IS a disaster....
and is more concerned how to get his butt outta trouble than getting help for people.... trouble is, once people get half comfortable again, we begin to hear what a "wonderful" job he has done... :puke:

its for COMPETENCE.

And if we have to keep it real simple for them, then let me suggest a simple way to remember what to do when hurricanes come.
Three simple "R"s cos I know they like the letter R-

Rescue
Recovery
Restoration

simple, see?

How about struggling to convince us you're an actual human being right now, that breathes air and drinks water?

7. That's cuz it's compassion
and that is one tone that he can't genuinly assume. It's just not a part of who he is. He would have to actually give a damn.

9. He's so tone deaf and has consistently been so. I don't understand
why his supporters think he is so in tune to anyone but their own warped vision of the world.

10. Human Compassion = Rove's achilles heel
They don't know how to "play" that. They can play fear and hate and blame, but they are incapable of giving our country what it demands at this time: EMPATHY & ACCOUNTABILITY

They f*cked up and they're not sorry. They will never say they're sorry. They will never take responsibility for this.
