Anyone know of resources to find out how one could help in their own area? |

I'm donating what I can and that's not much but I can spare time and help out, if any of the victims (human or animal) are coming to NJ.
I rent a room and so don't have a roof to offer anyone, but I can help feed people, I can cook, I can organize a clothing drive, or even just sit with someone.
Does anyone know if there's a resource to find out something like that?
A way to find out if people might be coming to your state, or if stranded pets will be coming to your shelter? Obviously I'm calling my local animal shelters to ask them but anything other than that (websites, nationwide numbers or directories or anything)?

Go to your local news website; we have a lot of info on ours (there's 3 of them here in TX). Also, check out www.craigslist.com, go to NJ, and look for info there.
