HELP! Newspaper needs information regarding my LTTE |
|
I know I saw this information here, but my search isn't working and I'm brain dead after passing through 4 airports yesterday!
Here's his question followed by my letter. I could have sworn I saw links and lists and everything to support what I wrote. Thanks so much!
----------------------------
You have some information in this letter that has not been part of what has been reported more broadly. Do you have a particular source for the narrative on FEMA turning down Nagin on Aug. 27? Thanks. -- Frank Taylor Assoc. Editorial Page Editor Florida Today
My letter:
In a recent letter to Florida Today, a reader accused Democrats of rushing to blame President Bush while placing the blame on the Democratic Governor of Louisiania and Democratic Mayor of New Orleans despite documented evidence to the contrary.
On Saturday, August 27, Mayor Nagin issued the evacuation order and advertised a 1-800 number for needy residents to call for an RTA bus to come pick them up. He requested buses and drivers to get people out and was told by FEMA that he couldn't do it because there was no where to send them. He requested the Superdome as a shelter and was told no. When they finally agreed, he requested supplies for at least 10,000 people. And was told no...by the federal government. On Sunday, August 28, prior to the storm hitting,Governor Blanco complied with the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act as dictated to states by federal law. Both officials took proper steps following President Bush declaring their territory federal disaster areas on August 26.
Your reader, and others like him need to remember two things. The federal government is reportedly failing victims in all affected areas, not just New Orleans. Responsibility defies the law of gravity and runs uphill.

3. I found the others and PM'd them, but as for the Superdome. HELP! |
|
I know I saw a specific thread within the last day or two that addressed the refusal to operate the Superdome as a shelter and then the refusal to supply it.
Does anyone remember that thread???? Or if you don't remember the thread do you have a media link to that specific information?

7. I wonder - were there LTTEs printed with claims that |
|
Clinton could have had Osama bin Laden and he let him go?
If so, I wonder if the letter writers were ever asked for their proof . . .

Democrats have rushed to blame President Bush
Of course, to the Democrats, President Bush is guilty of everything.
The truth of the matter is that two Democrats are primariliy at fault for much of what happened.
Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin failed in every aspect before and after the hurricane. These two are accountable for this tragedy.
Blanco did not have the ability to lead or respond. Nagin ran to the plush Hyatt Hotel with all his buddies, and helped them to the front of the line when it was time to get out of town.
Both, being typical Democrats, blamed everybody else for what was going on.
In fact, their lack of leadership made them the problem.
I think she should ask the editor why he didn't ask this writer to prove his points. Where was his source for the comment on Nagin whooping it up at the Hyatt? What is his evidence for Blanco and Nagin failing in every aspect? Oh right. Rove's talking points memo.
CitrusLib, Please, please ask the editor these questions in your response.

13. It's getting published! You guys ROCK. |
|
Just got a call that the letter is going to be published. No response to my question about why the freeper's letter was accompanied by documented evidence of Nagin 'whooping it up' at the Hyatt. Don't guess they'll reply to that one, LOL.
