They don't need us anymore

Corporations previously had a use for the middle class and poor. We were the ones who worked in their factories, grew their crops, and purchased their goods. We toiled away for money to carry us through another day, another winter and more. We would negotiate for higher wages, strike to obtain them, or manipulate the crop harvest to earn a bit more. They were happy to oblige for the most part, because they were happy to make millions off of our strife.

Today, our goods are made internationally by people working for quarters on the hour. Their cost of living is low, so they can afford to work for less than it costs for a loaf of bread. And, the corporations are making billions instead of millions. We think, “When we are all out of work and not buying anything more than necessities, they will listen.” But there are billions of people in this world buying products from these corporations. Eliminating the government burdens of social security, welfare, public education, and environmental protection protects them from suffering the loss of our tax dollars.

They don’t need us anymore. We are a people who they want eliminated. They have billions to live on and see our lands as places for development for their rich, corporate friends. How were they able to take over our America so easily? Easy when corporations take over the vote counting by machines with secret codes. Easy when corporations control our congress. Easy when our media is silenced. Easy when people do not protest. Ever wonder why our representatives haven’t been screaming at the top of their lungs about the vote counting? Could it be that their votes were counted in the same fashion?

Is there anything we can do anything to stop what was initiated many years ago? Maybe. The Boston Tea Party stopped taxation without representation, but the Boston Tea Party didn’t happen because a just a few people knew the right thing to do. It happened because everyone was fed up with what was happening. Until Katrina hit the shore, our country was not at that brink.
