8. Here's why "I don't think anyone could have anticipated...." is the one.
It clearly establishes the fact that the local governments were NOT responsible for the deaths, because ONLY the Federal Government has the resources to save people on this massive scale, after the levee broke. And they were DAYS late. He cannot speak this quote and escape prosecution.

9. If you look at the recent photos...
The only thing he regrets is "cutting his vacation short by 2 days" and not getting Labor Day off.

So for the people who say "George W. Bush regrets nothing"...how DARE you!

:patriot:

10. None of the above.
He won't regret any of it. Why should he. He's not facing re-election. He doesn't care about public opinion. The press and the democrats can't make him accountable. He'll have to put up with a little bad press for awhile sure but he's weathered that before.

Unless there's a landslide for Democrats in the next congressional elections he's golden. That's why the Democratic party has to run on impeachment. The people can choose. Either hold them accountable for all that's happened over the last 5 years or let the country go the way of New Orleans.

11. You forgot the Trent Lott quote
"We got a lot of rebuilding to do.... the good news is and it's hard for some to see it now but out of this chaos is going to come a fantastic gulf coast... out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house -- the guy lost his entire house -- there's going to be fantastic house. I look forward to sitting on the porch.

12. I really liked Laura Bush's quote...
"Well, since these people were, um, giggle, underprivalaged anyway, this is working out pretty well for them!" - Laura Bush visiting the Astrodome.

14. That was his mother Barbara Bush
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/09/07/ubush.xml&sSheet=/portal/2005/09/07/ixportaltop.html

"What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas," the president's mother said during a tour of evacuation centres.

She was accompanying her husband and former president George Snr as well as another ex-president Bill Clinton on a tour of the Astrodome complex. They were launching the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund.

She added the relocation is "working very well" for some of the poor people forced out of New Orleans.

16. Which will "hurt" him the most?
To be honest, I don't think he'll be all that hurt. At the moment, I think he's going to get away with another catastrophic failure, yet again.

Now, if tens of thousands of bodies end up being found aftet the water is drained, maybe that will change things...but then again, maybe it won't. Honestly, I don't know what to think of this country anymore...what will it take for us all to rise up in anger and say "enough is enough"?

Maybe only something so cataclysmic that there won't be anyone left alive afterwards to "rise up," anyway.

17. Brownie DID do a good job. He did what his boss wanted - He didn't help.
So - if you use that as a yardstick - he's doing a "bang-up" job.

18. Those quotes... I don't know whether to laugh or cry
The cynic in me finds them to be just hilarious in a very dark way, the intellectual is amused by his stupidity, but the realist is horrified that such an incompetent moron is in charge.
