Put yourself in Bush's place
A massive, record-breaking hurricane is bearing down on the Gulf Coast. It is exactly the "nightmare" scenario disaster officials had warned was among the biggest threats facing the U.S.

Upon hearing that: Do you cut short your vacation immediately or wait till a day or two after the storm hits?

1. Obviously, fake town hall meetings and photo ops with seamen
are much, much more important to the Bush Whitehouse.

3. Hell, I could put a piss-drunk monkey in Bush's place
And the monkey would have formulated a more coherent, prompt response.

6. Oh I'd wait, for sure.
Cake and guitar are far more important than people dying. Meh! on you for even asking.

Wait, what was the question? I fell into a coke haze for a minute there.

7. He depended on everyone else to do his job, as usual!
What would I DO? Well, first, I would have had competent people in place so they WOULD do their job! Second, anyone who didn't would have been fired before the public even knew they failed!

8. If you are as stupid as bu$h you plan a trip to the other side of the
country.

Now any other president daddy bu$h included would have been on the ball and cut vacation short so they could get back to the White House to make sure they could oversee the relief efforts on a national level.
Calling the Governor(s) and Mayors of the cities to be effected making sure they had all the help they needed.

Bu$h regime wanted this to happen, it helps cleanse the voter pool, mostly poor, black people who demographically vote against the repuke agenda.

13. I kill myself out of guilt because I know I've made NO vulnerable.
I've appointed political cronies to FEMA and downgraded it. I've sapped the resources out of government in general to give to the rich. I've favored ideology over science and professionalism, so my government is not going to know what to do.

But, then, Dubya was incapable of realizing these things, so here's what I'd do if I were really that incompetent scumbag: keep going on my vacation until it's time to go off for photo ops and political spin in the direction away from NO.

14. Duh,
first I have to figure out how to benefit from it. Like, it can be a great first showing for my new Homeland Security agency and what things will look like under marshal law, something the folks should get used to anyway. (Note to self: Maybe some delays and foul-ups will make those LA dems look like the blue idiots they are...) And, then I'll give a shout-out to my homies who can profit from all the coming devestation. My, my, the money will flow! Oh, and then, of course I'll gallop in with the relief supplies, hug some clean, friendly people, and reassure and congratulate my posse. A photo op with a black minister and I'm pretty much done. Oh, of course I'll hold a few hearings so we can blame the mayor and governor and then my mandate will be renewed. Who says this job is hard?

22. The Frame Of Reference Needs To Be Adjusted
Yeah, the hurricane is coming, but you're him and you've never worked a day in your life! EVERY DAY IS A VACATION. Cutting it short isn't an option, because the photo ops seem like work. He has no other frame of reference.

23. lets see, he sat in a classroom on 9/11. All breaks loose on the gulf
so naturally he jets off to promote his bullshit social insecurity plan and then gets on the plane to San Diego to talk get a geetar. Based on his 9/11 behavior it's seems like a natural pattern for him to do nothing in the face of a crisis.
