Bushville on the Capital Mall?
Rumor has it that survivors of Hurricane Katrina are considering committing an act of civil disobedience on 9/11 by camping out on the capital mall in D.C. Just imagine this growing into a "Bushville" encampment and continuing through the Katrina Congressional hearings and ultimately, impeachment proceedings.

What do you think of this idea?

sit down with the vets in Hooverville and stick up for their cause (until Pershing drove them out).

12. don't know
but, other peopLe invoLved in driving out the bonus army using tanks, tear gas, and such were dougLas macarther, and patton.

there were 100 casuaLties incLuding 2 smaLL chiLdren.

the bonus army returned foLLowing FDR's eLection, and instead of sending out the army to cLear them out, he sent his wife who brought them coffee, and Led them in songs.

(i just read a chapter on it, so it's fresh in my mind - sorry i don't know anything of smedLey)

2. In the 1930's we had "Hoovervilles"
I think it's a great idea to link Bush to the devastation in that manner.

3. Fantastic if they don't try to remove them by force.
Maybe they need Cindy Sheehan there as well. We know he's afraid of her and won't physically remove her because all the nation's eyes would be on her again.

4. I vote we call all the shelters "Bushvilles."
Might as well get the meme out.

But I'm all for peaceful civil disobedience.
