My home gas bill DOUBLED in the last month |
|
I certainly haven't used it for heating. I haven't been cooking either. I bbq outside or I have been making sandwiches or salads. It's been been too damed hot to cook. Everything else I use electric for; microwave, electric coffee maker, or electric clothes washer/dryer.
GREED. They all want a piece of the pie.

I think they just said gas might go up as much as 71% seems odd- why not say 70% but I thought that's what I heard- NBC -did I hear incorrectly?

2. Yes you did hear correctly. |
|
But if she didn't use any gas she should call the gas company and say my gas bill is wrong.

3. Sometimes they don't read the meter every month |
|
and you get a averaged bill, this may happen several months in a row. Then when they actually read your meter you make up the difference,I would still call and ask for a re-check.Something sounds screwy.

6. You heard right. CBS evening news |
|
said that natural gas bills could increase as much as 71% in some parts of the country. So maybe the poor who didn't drown in NO will freeze to death this winter. And don't hold your breath waiting for Bush to increase funding for LIHEAP to help the poor w/ heating bills. He's too busy plotting more tax cuts for the rich.
Please tell me this is a nightmare.

4. A congressperson I heard today said an oil guy told her it will go up 30% |
|
this winter. I have gas heat, and am already planning on freezing my ass off, either that or using my woodburning stove. Unfortunately, that only heats the finished basement area of the house, but I don't want to have to get two additional jobs just to pay the heating bill!

Seriously. The bill should say how much you used and how much you paid per unit. Make sure the units of natural gas used is similar to the previous month.

I had appliances (a electric stove very very old and a very very old refrigerator). They were both shot. Finally the tight ass very RICH repuke landlord had to replace the refrigerator and the bill dropped by 1/2. 1/2! Unbelievable!!!!!
Hot water heaters ... they too can be drawing a lot if they are going out or if you have gas heat, the furnace. Checked the filters and changed them lately?
Just ideas ....

It was bad last year with natural gas bills going up significantly. Add these projectewd increases to that and its' a financial disaster for many of us in the north.
The fucking Democrats had better get their fucking act together and fight to stop this rape by the free market for basic essentials!
Sorry, but I am so fucking sick of their inane political games while people are drowning, dying in battle and being frozen to death and deprived of healthcare.
