From Dictionary.com :
squat Audio pronunciation of "squatter" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (skwt) v. squat·ted, squat·ting, squats v. intr.
1. To sit in a crouching position with knees bent and the buttocks on or near the heels. 2. To crouch down, as an animal does. 3. To settle on unoccupied land without legal claim. 4. To occupy a given piece of public land in order to acquire title to it.
This is one of the most derrogatory terms I've heard yet. These people LIVE HERE, CNN. They OWN or RENT these homes. They are not squatters. No, not at all.
You suck.

The SCOTUS just recently expanded the government's right to declare Eminent Domain. If Eminent Domain has been declared in NO so the government will own everything it is fixing, and won't have to get permission from landlords and the like, these people would be considered "squatters". They would no longer own anything in NO, if this is so. How awful!
Does anyone know if the governement there has declared Eminent Domain over the city of NO?

Somehow derogatory terms that sting those in charge start getting used against the American people. Projection with an ear to the groundswell that otherwise is never admitted to. This is not the clearest example of this interesting phenom, but it is interesting.
