FOREIGN SOLDIERS ON U.S. Soil A day to remember
Edited on Wed Sep-07-05 07:18 PM by mshasta
Please tell me how the Greatest Super Power in the world has foreign soldiers from other countries on US Soil. Don't tell me because of the disaster. For that we have enough Americans willing to help, don't we? Why? What's coming? I just find it odd that we need to depend on foreign soldiers. I love all soldiers groups by why can't we have regular citizens come help why soldiers- Soldiers from Canada, France, Germany, Britian, Mexico, and I hear Russia too?? **maybe I seen red dawn to much** or maybe the leaders are getting ready for the
destruction of rome.

Sept. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Canada, France, Germany and Britain are among countries whose militaries are coming to the aid of the U.S. in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, according to interviews with officials and government statements.

Mexican Navy sends rescuers, supplies for Katrina victims

ASSOCIATED PRESS
3:06 p.m. September 5, 2005

Mexican Army soldiers stand at attention in front of their transport vehicles before resting on their first day of travel towards the U.S. border near the city of Matehuala, Mexico late Tuesday night Sept. 6, 2005. An army aid convoy carrying water treatment plants, mobile kitchens and supplies to feed the victims of Hurricane Katrina will be the first Mexican military unit to operate on U.S. soil since 1846

12. And there's a Lafayette, Louisiana.
Many soldiers from France helped the US during the American Revolution. I, for one, welcome this help from foreign countries. They are bringing necessary expertise and equipment that will help the people of the Gulf Coast through what is certain to be a years-long recovery from this catastrophe.

19. I embrace foreign soldiers visiting for humanitarian purposes.
But I do have a problem when they visit for other purposes, like mercenary training at The School of the Americas.

20. there is a permanent exchange within NATO frame
Maybe a lot don't know about that but even fighter pilots exchange skills in respective countries.

French pilots train on F-16 etc..., Americans on Mirage and Rafale. There are permanently 2 US pilots on our hangar-carrier. besides skills they learn the language and can function as liaison.

Part of the coalition fleet in operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) is under rotating command. Which means that US ships can be under French or British command.

there are many more examples...

Rumsfeld says we have too many troops!

While speaking to Sean Hannity, Donald Rumsfeld was discussing troop levels in response to the criticism that we are thin on troops and National Guard that could have help with Katrina because of the war in Iraq. He says that we actually have too many troops in certain areas...
