The US-276 Peace Sign.

I almost ran off the road (US-276) just south of Brevard, NC, this afternoon. On a hillside meadow in the French Broad River valley someone has cut a HUGE peace sign. It is as big as a football field. Kudos to the artist who did this work-in-grass. It is ironic, too, that this peace sign overlooks a battlefield of the little-known Walton War (1804 - 1807), which were minor battles over territory disputes between North and South Carolina and Georgia.

2. Two or three miles south of Brevard.

It is on the left, if you are headed south. I don't think you can see it northbound. I had my digital camera in the car but never thought to take a picture! I can't get used to having a digital camera.
I also saw an interesting sign at Dunn's Rock. It whizzed by so fast I couldn't read the small print, but big letters sure said: Dunn's Rock Democrats.
I'll check out the peace symbol and the Dunn's Rock sign when I get back in town week after next. If they are still there I'll get pictures.
