Who Will Protect W When His Term Is Up?
I know he'll get Secret Service protection. But he's so seriously sheltered right now. Who will protect him from the jeers and heckling when he's out of office? Surely there will be no such intense protections as there are now.

1. Bubble Boy loses his Bubble after
he gets out of office. Yes he gets limited repeat limited Secret Service but not the vast First Amen. zones army of SS people.

Clinton only has like 4-6 SS unless he goes overseas as I remember.

2. Maybe he won't leave.
Maybe he'll declare martial law and make the dictatorship official.

19. Check US Const., Amendment XX and 3 USC 19
The presidential term ends noon January 20 -- martial law cannot change that.

Bush is gone Jan 20 2009 no matter what.

3 USC 19 says the Speaker of the House serves as acting President until a new President-elect qualifies.

23. Since when has the law stopped Bush?
Rules don't apply with this administration. After all that's happened, I would think this is clear by now. The only person Bush will step down for is another Bush, or a very close proxy.

17. There will be a state of emergency that keeps him from leaving "on time"
When he finally leaves office, he'll probably be made ambassador to Bolivia or whereever the Moonies have their compound.

7. All his toadies will abandon him. He won't be
able to give them anything else. They will latch on to the next Repub. nominee. And maybe SS will become lax.

Those Nice Young Men
In their Clean White Coats

10. I picture him retreating, Like Nixon, to a San Clemente-like enclave
Unlike Nixon, there'll be no later 'rehabilitation of his image' phase with offices in NYC.

14. He'll pop out every so often, campaigning to be made Baseball
Czar and act incredibly hurt when the country laughs him back into hiding.

15. Omigod, yes!
I'd left out of the calculation his disastrous 'helming' of the Texas Rangers.

He has baseball connections.

Ugh.

But you're right...the other owners will have a good laugh, then go back to their cigars.

16. He'll finally claim that he was NOT elected in 2000 & only appointed.
Therefore, he will declare himself eligible to run for re-election. Defies enormous odds yet again, without any concern from our alleged government.

Just wait what he reveals about the 2004 election in 2007.

18. Are you kidding me? He cries himself to sleep at night
because he's been forced into this position by Darth Vader & Co. They'll just replace him with another born again, brainless twit whom all the "religious" nutcases needing a "man of god" to lead them will grow a massive collective hardon for.

They'll appoint him ambassador to Texas, give him a baseball team to fuck up and perform memory loss charms on him. He can golf with OJ the rest of his life.

20. I recall the first Reagan photo-op after he left office.
and it wasn't all stage managed. I still can see him in that big ol' "Marvin the Martian" helmet, saluting a Marine.

21. He'll be upset that his speaking is only $50 because even Freepers
say he is hard to listen to.

There'll be no one to read the newspapers for him, so when he starts talking about current events, he won't understand why people don't know who Dagwood and Charlie Brown are.
