RW talking points on "The View"

I was home for the morning and watched the first two segments of "The View." They were discussing the federal response to the disaster in the Gulf. Elisabeth, an apparent right-winger, was repeating the RW talking points..."it's the local/state officials' job"..."you have to ask for assistance first"...blah blah blah.

I emailed her with the information that's been around DU for a few days. If anyone wants to join in and bombard her with it, just go to The View website ( http://abc.go.com/daytime/theview/ ). On the left side of the homepage you will see the link to e-mail her.

This is a show that reaches millions of people every day, some of whom may rely on this show or similar "fluff" talk shows for information. It might make a difference if Elisabeth corrects the record.

I also e-mailed this info to Joy, who seems (from what I saw today) to be more on "our side" of the political spectrum.

2. Joy and Starr are big Democrats. Elizabeth is a Bushbot. I used

to watch sometimes but Elizabeth drowned out the others and I don't watch anymore.

Starr reads all of her e-mails so if you want someone to have some ammo to use against Elizabeth, send it to her.

You should send Joy and Starr the Think Progress Time Line.

E-mail the best info you have to them. They reach people who aren't glued to the news constantly like we are.

I missed that one. The information I emailed to Elisabeth was a link to Governor Blanco's letter requesting aid, and a link to FEMA's site granting assistance, all before the storm hit of course.

My purpose in sending it to Joy was that I don't trust Elisabeth to correct the record. Hopefully Joy will say something. I will also send Starr the link you posted.

7. Think Progress is a Progressive Think tank that does a great job

of ferreting out the truth. I linked you to that specific post but if you click on their name at the top, you will see they post a lot of great info. Maybe you could point it out to them as well. We need them to be informed and eloquent spokespeople.

Perhaps we should figure out who we could e-mail daily or weekly (or when needed) of non-news people who discuss current events on TV, radio, etc such as - the View women specifically Starr, Joy, Oprah... Who else has shows discussing current events who we could send information to?

3. Elisabeth really is a bush-bot

And she isn't even very good at shilling for the Right.

It is amazing how this Administration spreads its talking points like these people have chips in their brains with signal receivors.

until they start talking! Then you're so mesmerized by how annoying they are and they don't look so good anymore.
