I think most of us on here would agree that Kanye West was correct when he said Georgie Porgie doesn't care about Black people.
But here's the big elephant in the room that we are not talking about: WHY doesn't he care about Black people? WHY is he so insensitive to the needs of African-Americans? Is he racist, or is it something else at work here?
From my perspective, I do not believe George W. is a racist. Rather, I believe he doesn't care about African-Americans, because of the priviledged life he has led.
He's never had to do a thing on his own. He's always been able to count on using Daddy's name for everything, including getting out of Vietnam.
He doesn't know what it is like to have to work hard, struggle to afford college, live from pay-check to paycheck, etc.
Simply put: he can't relate.

2. He can't relate based on race. That's racism. |
|
Sure it's socio-economic, too. But that doesn't mean it is not racism. Frankly, his privileged upbringing is secondary to his narcissistic sociopathic personality.

4. Here's what I think... |
|
I don't think George Bush thinks deep enough to be a racist. The man doesn't concern himself with civil rights, equality or justice--when it comes to race.
He surrounds himself with African Americans--but only if they share his world view and play his games. I don't think race is really an issue with him. He's not that deep. He's a selfish, spoiled, myopic, sniveling little weasel who surrounds himself with lemmings who tell him what he wants to hear. He's prejudice--but against people who don't think like him.
He's more of an elitist jerk--than anything else.
Being an elitist--usually means that the average person, members of the middle class, the poor, underprivileged or people who care about social issues--will be IGNORED TOTALLY by this president. He doesn't have time to care about social equality, environmentalism, altruism, fairness. I bet those subjects bore him--at best.
I think George really hates the Federal Government--and he and his neocons are out to dismantle and destroy it. He could give a rip about FEMA. It's part of "big government" that they're trying to decimate. That's why he placed one of his good buddies as head of FEMA--someone who was nowhere near qualified for the job.
Junior doesn't care about government programs, initiatives or funding that help the average person--or people who are poor, or needing help. So--they fill it with ineffectual, unqualified leaders, cut funding, run it willy nilly-----and we are seeing the effect of that.
It's not racism that drives Junior--as much as stupidity, elitism and his disdain for the parts of the Federal Government that benefit anyone below the top 10 percent.
Just my 2 cents....

I don't think he's a racist either. He just doesn't 'get' or give credence to race or poverty. His old college professor recounted something about his thoughts on the poor, that he believed their poverty was their fault.

9. I think you just hit the nail on the head |
|
Especially in reference to George W. surrounding himself with Blacks, only if they share his world views. (Wait, he actually has world views?) :)
One time, he was asked about his outreach to African-Americans, etc. And he responded by citing Condi Rice and Colin Powell as his crowning achievements. He said that when he is visited by foreign leaders in the Oval Office, those foreign leaders see 2 Blacks by his side.
I'm an African-American. And what he doesn't understand is that just because someone looks like me and has my same skin color, doesn't mean they share my interests or my values.

8. I mostly agree and you're probably right but I personally think... |
|
...he doesn't care because he's a piece of shit. You kind of make it sound like he might care if only he had to live an underprivileged life himself. You may not mean that but that's just how I read what you wrote. I personally have seen many pieces of shit who are pieces of shit simply because they are pieces of shit. Many repukes have had to live pay-check to pay-check and have had to struggle through life and are still living the hard life but they still vote repuke because they are simply pieces of shit. It does not require struggling through life to not care about black people and so I'm not ready to dismiss that Captain Bunnypants doesn't care about black people simply because he's a racist piece of shit. Or maybe it's a combination of both. I don't really know why he doesn't care and I don't care why he doesn't care. The only thing I really care about are the two things I am certain of and they are that he's a piece of shit and he doesn't care about black people.
