Just heard it a minute ago. Every law enforcement official has a Hazmat suit.

7. The government is right to do this
Wyoming is smack dab in the middle of hurricane country. It is also a heavily populated state with lots of tall buildings that could be attacked by terrorists.

But what the hell is there to protect there? A geyser, some buffalo, and Devil's Tower?

10. That's probably on a per capita basis
But nevertheless, we must indeed protect Dick Cheney's purported home state, as we KNOW that those damn terrorists have their sights trained (trained, I tell you!) on the Little America filling stations!

Besides, why don't you think we need to throw all our resources at Wyoming? Do you want the terrorists to win? Why do you hate America? Or at least Wyoming?

God damn but these talking points get stupider and stupider, don't they?

Yes, it is. See this article:

Hopefully the major outlets will pick up on more stuff like this. Aggregious and flagrant wastes and injustices that many of us have known of for years are finally coming to light. Yay.

11. They said that on CNN?
What context? Link?

Wow. The Fourth Estate really does seem to have had a testicular transplant. And the host hasn't rejected it yet. Amazing. Let's hope those little peach fuzzies end up successfully assimilating.

13. Well clearly the evildoers are going to have to nuke the whole
state to find Cheney, only to find out that he has spent all of his time in Maryland shopping for an estate to entertain his Halliburton buddies once he has ruined this country, once and for all.

15. dollar amount, or per capita?
Per capita would be easy, with a Wyoming population of a half million.

18. In somewhat of a defense, it is per capita
and since Wyoming has more gophers than people, I think it is somewhat negligible.
However, there is ALWAYS the possibility of a gopher stampede...

22. This has been well-known for some time.
I believe Homeland Security funds are doled out in equal amounts to each state.

Therefore California gets the same amount of money as Wyoming, despite having about 68 times as many people. Ditto New York, with about 40 times as many people.

New York City alone boasts a population about 16 times that of Wyoming.

But -- ehh -- we must be fair to Wyoming.
