3. That is so sad. I've seen other pictures that are way more
graphic. It's hell down there. I feel for those people who had to walk through their fellow citizens of NOLA to get to another hell and be trapped. Every shred or moral indignation has left me. I would have said don't hate people and don't stoop to their level, but now I truly hate this administration and our government for yakking in front of cameras for days on end while those people suffered and died in horror.

5. Pm'ed ya. Warning. They are graphic. I'll let you and/or any mods you know
decide whether to post them here or not. They are brutally honest about the number and extent of the dead in NOLA. It's horrible.

6. Quoting Dr. Dean, "The Culture of Corruption!"
So tired of asking, "where is the outrage from the so-called Religious Right, I ask?" But, sadly, I know where their heads are.

7. My God, that photo.
That's someone's "Mom-Mom." My Mom-Mom died last year, and all I see when I see that photo is what if that was her?

Words cannot describe how heartbreaking that photo is, or what a tragedy it is that this happened in the US.

8. And I'll tell you what makes me even more sick,
is that I'm a white guy and, let's assume that for some reason I got stuck in that fucking shithole of a dome with a mother who was sick, old, and in a wheelchair, just like that lady, that more than likely, because I have some connections with "people of influence", I'd have been able to get my mother out of there.

Yes, I know, that even some white people were stuck there and left to die, but truth is this - I know people with MONEY, plus I'm white - I'm pretty much guaranteed that I will NEVER be in a position of watching a loved one die this way, or dying that way myself.

And that's not through any power or goodness or anything in and of myself. Only because I know enough people with A LOT OF MONEY (and, of course, people with money who also have a good heart, which I know some DUers refuse to believe such creatures exist, but, contrary to their inherent inability to see the truth beyond their myopic hatred of "filthy lucre", do exist).

And that really pisses me off, that not only were these people left to die, there wasn't even any equality in who was left to die! It feels like a double whammy to me.

9. If you are poor enough, even white doesn't help that much
One side of my family would know (or guess) how to push some buttons to get things moving, but the other side would be useless.

I've never gotten more from an unrelated white person than an unsolicited racist joke.

Being white is one of the requirements to be in the club, but it doesn't get you in by itself.
