Will he manage to get another free pass thanks to spin and media control? For a week, we had a media. We seem to be returning to business as usual, at least in part.

disaster. And then there are some who are still like sheep. I'll never forgot that stupid family who was in that Bush/Cheney ad humping the stump Bush and they had a family member killed in 9-11. I still can't get over it.

Oh and yes, unless White, middle to upper middle class America gets hit HARD by something that shakes them to their absolute core and they are stripped of their suv's, mc mansions, jobs, gated communities, private schools, etc., etc.--MAYBE then.

I'd like to think (hope)things will be different this time. My personal jury is still out on that one, I guess...

11. Unfortunately, yes.
Junie has absolutely NADA to lose (which makes him so dangerous). The ONLY way that anything will happen is if the Dems WHO COUNT get mean/nasty AND repubs of principle (e.g. Paul, Voinovich) step up to the plate. Unless that happens, we'll see a lotta blogs, a lotta new DUers, a lot more listeners to AAR, and that's it.

Or we'll have to see an unprecedented grass-roots groundswell of epic proportions.

This time there are literally over a million people who have been shat upon and dissed by these bastards. And millions of others who have witnessed the utter incompentence and hatred of BushCo, and who will NOT PUT UP WITH IT ANY MORE! There is a growing anger in this country, and if the Dems and the media won't do anything about it, I think We the People WILL!

that history will tell the truth about him and his minions. I pray the future will hold him in such contempt that the name bush will become the filthiest word in anyone's vocabulary. It should replace words like bitch, bastard, the "n word" and the "c word". It should be so vile that people of character would call out anyone who uses it for corrupting and polluting society.
he will get away with it again.

18. Of course he will, because his minions control everything
right now. What's nice is that America is a nice big unruly continent making it impossible for them to control all dissidence. It used to be that minorities were controlled in urban areas because of their poverty. White people got a piece of the pie and didn't worry because they got their share. Things are changing though. Those complacent entitled people are beginning to worry.

Maybe in other parts of the country people can afford to be complacent because it happened to "someone else," but here in California we don't have that luxury. I would rather NOT go through the next Big One under the tender mercies of BushCo's FEMA, thank you very much.

Katrina will be remembered for the next 50 years for its destruction and delayed misery. The stories are just now coming in and the books that will record WarCriminal's failure for prosperity are just now being started.

He will pay a huge price for his failure. Can you imagine being the pResident on vacation for the first few days of the largest natural disaster in American history?

The eyewitnesses are lining up to get there story out and it will get out. I am surprised there is not a website started just for the purpose of letting people have a collection point for their personal stories.

This is going to be a lesson on spin even to WarCriminal's admirers. We already know Bu$h was highly negligent in his duty. What we are waiting for is the evidence of just how terrible a performance Bu$h provided.

Wait until the books come out about the WarCriminal's photo ops of the open distribution aid center set up for one photo op that was removed after he left. Then there is the photo op of WarCriminal using 50 of the 1000 of firefighters gathered from all over the country in Atlanta to make a photo op. Here we had fire departments committing their best to go to New Orleans only to endure sexual harassment presentations in Atlanta only to be used to hand out flyers.

WarCriminal was not just a miserable failure concerning Katrina. This time he was a lethal failure and he is going to get his from now until the day his sorry ass is dead.

49. Exactly, exactly, exactly.
Of course we're all frustrated.

Five years of watching this horrible Presidency and we're still waiting for our countrymen to wake up. They haven't. They might not. Some have, it's just that the ones who haven't have hunkered in and they're bringing their war to us.

I never thought I'd live in historic times, I thought I'd just watch it on television, or listen to my grandparents talk about sacrifice and grand, noble, good acts, and leaders. But here we find ourselves, smack-dab in the middle of something that will be talked about 100 years from now.

Long after Bush and his evil minions are gone, the remnants of the damage he did to our nation, and more importantly, to our union, will remain. It will take perspective, and better leaders, to truly understand all that we've lost in these years.

I crave the instant gratification of the Super Wake-Up Moment, but I'll be a little more patient. We're only beginning to see the (impressive) right-wing echo chamber defense and machinery, but many in the press aren't buying it yet (watch the press conferences). A few weeks from now, maybe people will see it differently...

Hell if I know. But I'm with firefox... something is coming, and a price will be paid. It might be in five weeks. It might be in fifty years.

32. Difficult to see.
On the one hand, you have the media returning to its master, almost begging chimpymcawolfubar for forgiveness.

However, we still cannot measure the full effect of Katrina and chimpymcawolfubar's denial thereof.

The bodies have not been counted.

The 35th largest city in the nation, and one of the nation's busiest ports, was practically destroyed. There will be economic ramifications.

The word-of-mouth from Red Cross workers, and citizens trying to help by personally delivering supplies, who were denied access to Katrina victims has not yet reached all ears.

Chimpymcawolfubar might be able to cover it up, but he does have a lot more working against him than he ever has before.

do you not think you can handle that??

get mad..stay mad..theynumbers coming out are phony as hell..do something..make yourself counted..pick a couple senators a day..and go after them..and go hard..

those beautiful people down there deserve and need us in every way..not just our checkbooks..but our mouths and our knowledge ...
if you fold up ..the congress will fold up ..we all know that..that is why we must be vigilant as hell and determined as hell...

i refuse to believe possibly 40,000 deaths don't deserve our fighting our asses off for them...do they not deserve that dignity in their deaths??

do people dying deserve to be put in the morgue before they die??

does any human being deserve to not have food and water for up to 6 days??

well if you give up..then what does that say about us as humans and Americans...

i will never give up and i will call and raise holy hell every day until there is an independant investigation..and some one ( *) is held accountable!!

I know some responders to this thread have said yes, but with what I have been seeing and reading and hearing over the past week, I don't think Chimpy is going to get a free pass on this one. When the compliant media is speaking out, when life-long Republicans (not Freepers) are bolting, when people are speaking out in anger and pain, he's not gonna get away with it. I've said several times on this board that this is NOT Valerie Plame, Joe Wilson, Max Cleland, et. al. This is something that happened to millions of Americans, either directly because they were in the path of the hurricane and the levee breaches, or because friends and family members were. Nope, I think * just lost the battle AND the war.

But this is a process, and now the media has awakened. I would follow the tone and quality of media reporting closely - there's bound to be some attempt of closing of ranks by the Rove.

Anyhow, junior is meat already. The best he can hope for is to serve out his term as a emasculated and wind torn president without cred. Katrina and Cindy saw to that. And woke the media up.
They are on to him now, but I'm not sure if he's gonna fall.

Hell, why am I lying :D
