Is it possible to bus our politicians to the other side where
most Americans live? Like a damn field trip. Make them all get on school buses, drive to the poor neighborhoods and talk to folks living near, on, and under the poverty line. They should do this say, 4 hrs a week? And make them feed the homeless. This should be a requisite of their jobs.

Yes, I'm saying this half facetiously in light of the clear class difference between those of our elected officials and most Americans.

But, wouldn't that be a sight...our elected officials being bussed to reality.

1. They'd obviously need a good tour guide.
I can just see them all loaded on a bus and asking each other how the hell you get there.

3. They'd probably

2. They should all be made to wade in NOLA's waters
Each and every one, so the good guys can tell them "I told you so".

6. yes. something! anything that gives them a clue as to how hard life
can be. these people live in their little luxury bubbles of life and seem to be completely insulated from human suffering. i wasn't even sure that was possible--to go through life and not suffer. but i'm beginning to wonder.

7. God, that would be great...
Better yet, let's take them down to St. Bernard's parish, or one the others under water, drop them on a house for 2-3 days with a bottle of water and bag of candies, and let them see how they fare...
