I am tired. This administration, and trying to keep us with it, |
|
and the lies and half-truths, the talking heads and the pundits, they are making me weary after a week + of hearing about it. All I have done is hear about it. I wasn't there. Imagine if I or you had been. Tomorrow I will do more.

2. That's why DU, or any other group of like-minded libs, is a good thing |

None of us can go non-stop in this fight. It gets to each and every one of us. We alternately explode in rage or break down in tears. In between, we do whatever we can to fight these people to get our country back.
Sometimes I think about being at my mom's house after my dad's funeral. I have 5 siblings, and tons of relatives, and everyone was there. At different times, people alternated between crying, laughing, and telling stories about dad. None of us could sustain the "strong spine" for an extended period of time, so when some of us were down, others of us were there to hold them up, and it alternated all through the day, and in the days that followed.
So go rest, space out, hide, escape, whatever you need to do. There will always be someone here to carry the load until you can pick it up again.

3. Take a break & plant a community garden, or mentor a youth or |
|
take a family under your wing. Do something else for a bit. We need you ready & able when the elections of 2006 come around. Save up your strength.

After following the hurricane for a whole week, getting hit by it, cleaning up the mess for a couple of days, then screaming and begging people to leave New Orleans when it was clear it would hit it. Then following all of the horror that unleashed afterwards nonstop. Watching all the interviews, reading all of the reports, moderating the board.
Sleep those little slices of death. How I need thee!

I didn't get hit nor was I in the path, but to me it was pretty clear it would hit. Last Saturday morning I went to meet some people and rode along to Crawford, TX, and I mentioned NO was in the path of this hurricane. I was worried. I had reason to be. :-(
