Freepers b*tch about Bush relief request

"This is getting ridiculous. This is out of control robbery taking place amidst the national hysteria."

"As a previous poster said, the 60 billion dollars is not an act of generosity by the President or Senate, it is OUR money they are throwing around not theirs. And you know there's much, much more to come. I thought businesses and homeowner's had to have insurance on their properties. And if they didn't why do we have to pay for it?"

"Now I don't feel guilty about not donating any money for Katrina relief since I'm apparently going to be spending several hundred dollars out of my taxes for it"

8. I saw that too
Lots of contridictions they catching from one another about appropriations, such as Vet healthcare spending, military bases closing, true security on the borders, etc, and the god awful bankruptcy bill that friggin' Charles Grassley was so eager to pass for his banking buddies.

Yet, poor people deserve nothing, as far as they are concerned.

4. ha ha!
That thread is hilarious!!

So the dems hate Shrubbie because he's an incompetent johnny-come-lately who isn't helping enough. The freeps hate him because he showed up too soon and is offering tax-payer money to minorities and other filthy scum.

Brilliant!!

If only we could hold a joint impeachment

6. But of course the Iraq warmakers must have a blank check
Are these questions ever asked by them with regard to the Iraq war?

No, whenever this White House asks for more war money the Congress fails to do their job, never asking any questions at all, and the money is always rubber stamped.

11. Mind boggling.
I can't figure these jerks out. They won't say a word about a billion/wk for Iraq, but helping out their fellow Americans who have lost everything, really pisses them off. But we not suppose to believe race had anything to do with it, right Condisleezy? :eyes:

7. It is your Pres and Congress doing that Freeps...
you voted them in...

They caused the disaster by not funding the levees and you know it. It would have cost a few extra million to prevent this disaster, but now we are all spending tens of billions of dollars to cover up for your elected official's failure.

9. How can you go there?!
My head would spin off! This comment:"Now I don't feel guilty about not donating any money for Katrina relief since I'm apparently going to be spending several hundred dollars out of my taxes for it" I hope that greedy motherfucker isn't in a disaster prone area (that includes terrorist attacks). Now s/he doesn't have to feel guilty? I am guessing that feeling never existed in her/his hateful heart!

12. One guy actually gets that the money does come from somewhere
but I think he misses the point behind the Congressional relief bill-Americans have donated over $500 million but the south might need up to 100 billion. And that means that there is no other way of really taking care of this mess. PLUS-it is the JOB OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO PROVIDE FOR THE GENERAL WELFARE! Says right there in the consitution! Along with this crazy line about providing for the common defense. Read the constitution Freepers!

14. Wonder what the New Orleans Chapter of the FreeRepublic thinks
of their boy-king these days? Or their fellow Freepers sense of community? Hey, NO Freepers....what's your thoughts about the role of federal government in your life now? Like your President's agenda and the policies that sold you down the Gulf of Mexico? I'm sure your capable of getting back on your feet with no government handout....right?

13. Idiots...you elected these people.
No complaints about spending $300BB for an elective war of delusion in Iraq though. Where'd they think the money was going to come from? You can only bankrupt the Treasury so far, then you have to start shorting your domestic investments...like infrastructure. Like $300MM to upgrade flood water control so you don't spend $30BB dealing with the results. Think about all those bridge repairs that aren't being made or the beef your eating not being inspected. Think about the potholes that go unfilled and your kids education being shorted - that's going to make them as ignorant as you. Think about your healthcare you can't afford...of, even better, think about George Bush "fixin" your Social Security....like he fixed New Orleans.

The 25 Watt lightbulb will come on in about 10 years when this country is completely run into the ground. It ought to be a crime to be that stupid.

And the 300 billion we've already spent in that regard ain't enough!
