Odious ramblings at FR regarding eminent domain in NO...
The kinds of things I see that make me ashamed of others that claim they are "Americans". I wish this could be dismissed as them TRYING to be funny but sadly, I think it's them just being the racist, bigoted wastes of DNA that they are.

Now that New Orleans is 100% blight...(Eminent Domain thoughts?)

Posted on 09/06/2005 7:28:34 PM PDT by RGSpincich

New Orleans is the most urban area hit by Katrina and the most likely to be cut up by land grabbing public entities. From a municipal view point, every parcel of property is blighted and is subject to eminent domain proceedings. New Orleans will sieze upon this trajedy to remove unwanted neighborhoods in favor of lucrative tourist attractions. What do you think?

"Some Godawful memorial to the Katrina victims, with info on slavery, lynchings and how Bush was at fault for everything."

"GOLF COURSES, lots of golf courses."

"Environmentalists would say that the area should be given back to "Mother Nature" and revert back to a swamp. That would be appropriate given the nature of some of the snakes who live there, such as Ray Nagin."

3. Sometimes I feel the same way.
If at the very least there is a form of order to the universe similar to reincarnation, these degenerates deserve to come back as. . . my mind is drawing a blank, there's nothing on earth I can conceive that would nearly be as wretched as they deserve.

6. Cockroaches?
At least we could then step on and squash them the way they deserve.

7. Bah !!!
Cockroaches are the only things that'd survive a Nuclear Fallout, and thus would inherit the earth. These arrogant blowhards are hardly "the meek". Cockroaches is too good for them.

From one post:

"From a municipal view point, every parcel of property is blighted and is subject to eminent domain proceedings. New Orleans will sieze upon this trajedy to remove unwanted neighborhoods in favor of lucrative tourist attractions. What do you think?"

They are discussing the inevitable. Casinos as far as the eye can see. Look up my other posts re: Frank Fahrenkopf and the American Gaming Association.

5. The "back to nature" one is as real a possibility as condos
From a strictly hydrological point of view, the only permanent "fix" for NO is to restore some semblance of the natural cycle of sediment deposition, and the areas that would need that most are the lowest-lying ones -- which also happen to be the areas where poor folks could afford to live, and where the houses have so much water in them it'd be cheaper to knock it down and build a new house than to make repairs.

I guarantee the Evil Brotherhood of Land Developers will use the environmental angle to put a "magnanimous, public-spirited" face on their grab.
