HEY - what do you guys think about the Dems overplaying their hand?
I started thinkging about this yesterday and then I just saw those words in an article in LBN about Hillary.

I think it's something we better be aware of.

Yes, the government failed, obviously the government failed - but we have to find a way to hammer this home and investigate it and lay the Bush administration's failures bare for all to see, but do it right.

Do I know how to do that? No. So let's talk about? What do you think?

1. When in the last five years can you name one time the Democrats
overplayed their hand?

I can't think of even one time.

20. "Hear! Hear!" is what they shout out in Parliament, just as American
politicians might yell "Listen! Listen!" in Congress, if they gave a dam and weren't stone-deaf to the wants and needs of the people.

:hi:

21. At this time of the day, I'm lucky...
...I got the number of vowels right at all, let alone trifling over whether they are the right vowels. Birthmark = Not a morning person. :)

Thanks for the correction.

3. I think it is time to put up or shut up
and not worry about overplaying this hand. How in God's name could they? I pray that Pelosi will not be the only one that calls him dangerous because it is the truth. They have to tell the truth and not be intimidated. They have to put the country in front of their political career. PERIOD

5. If the Democratic leaders don't fight back now,
then we die. Democrats have absolutely nothing to lose. There is no "overplaying their hand". That's just republican and DLC newspeak for "Democrats, shut up".

FIGHT BACK OR DIE!! I may be too dramatic, but that's where my head is now. I don't give a damn what the Republicans think. In fact, I don't give a damn what the Bushbot voters think either. Just fight, dammit!

We need a way to articulate the ridiculousness in a soundbite, though.

13. This is a royal flush, so the Repukes are trying to change the
rules. The Repukes have lied too often on the record to play their usual games. Every time they say "blame game" some more hot air leaks out of their balloon.

14. Please, Democrats, pick up the cards! This is a sure bet!
I'm amazed that every Democrat in elective office isn't screaming at the top of his or her lungs that the beast and his entire administration must be removed from office, tried and convicted of their many crimes, and placed in Gitmo for the appropriate torture regimen.

... about Dems UNDERplaying their hand.

Here are the facts as I see them...

Americans were becoming wary of the Bush** administration well before Katrina. Polls reflect this with no uncertainty. Iraq is a mess - they have no plan to "win" and no plan to "end". Gas prices were, before Katrina, already weighing heavily on the American economy and the the psyche of the populace. The economy has been languishing along for five full years. The spin coming out of Washington about the wonderful state of our economy is fooling fewer and fewer people.

Then comes Katrina, and the worst fears of even Bush**'s supporters are in our faces. These guys are ALL TALK. They are ALL PR. They can yap and yap, when the rubber meets the road they are simpering losers. Already one can see that the administration is spending a lot more effort trying to hone the "message" than saving lives. Really, in my most cynical moment (and that is pretty cynical), I could have never imagined the scope of this debacle or the cynical manipulation of the event for photo-ops. It really reaches a whole new level of low.

If the Dem leadership wasn't such a bunch of milquetoast pansies, they'd go for the jugular RIGHT NOW. America is sick of these losers, but so far they see no new ship to jump to. Dems are giving them NO REASON to believe they would do better.

Overplay our hand? You really have to be kidding.

23. They aren't loosers ...

They're the people who win by cheating. And they're cheating 3/4 of the people who actually vote for them.

They're just EVIL. That is all there is to it. These are EVIL FUCKING RAT BASTARDS!!!!

They have a royal flush and they're playing it as if they have a pair of 2s.

Of course, they may be baiting the administration to up his bid and make him feel stronger than he really is.

24. You must be LOUD and STRONG, even if you might be wrong.
That's the way they do and no one holds them accountable. We always back off, apologize, and disappear and what has it gotten us? People ususally believe the lousdest last man standing. We had the right message at first and then backed off. Fuch the coming elections, I would rather take my chances pointing out the failures of this administration, "swiftboat" the hell out of them and let the cips and MSM fall where they may. If idiots still want to vote for the Republicans after all the evidence of ruining this country, then there is nothing that will stop them anyway. I would rather speak to those who have sense enough to understand the truth.

25. I wish that was something we had to worry about. As it is,
we have to worry the Democrats are going to let the moment pass. If any President has ever deserved to be impeached, it's George W Bush. If any Opposition Party has not seemed up to its historic task, it's the Democrats. As Pelosi forthrightly noted, he's "oblivious" and "dangerous." How in the world can we justify leaving him office to torment the American people and the world for another three years?
