There are 600 Chicago Illinois firefighters left twiddling their thumbs at LSU miles away from where they can do the most good, waiting for "orders" from FEMA to move into the city. These men and women could be there already, helping to recover the survivors, giving NOFD and FDNY firefighters a break, and beginning the process of recovering the dead from the streets and putrid water. I saw a firefighter's personal vehicle on NBC this morning sporting a sign on the windshield that said "Let Us Help". But they're playing cards and passing footballs, biding their time.

That's fucked up.

This story is running on NBC Today Show this morning. Can't find much yet about them being stuck at LSU. They've been there for 2 days. Will add links as they are made available.

I can't believe it. No wait, after all that's happened yes I can believe it. It's still mind-blowing. We need to keep track of all of this. Print it out, send it to our representatives in Washington so they don't forget.

5. CNN had it too. They are tossing footballs and cooling their

heels. They have everything, even extra fuel and FEMA dithers while people die. A woman on a local call in show called for the return of the guillotine yesterday.
