I remember when Roseanne and Tom Arnold were married, and nearly everyone hated them. They didn't care, they just laughed and continued to gross out people.

They said something I found funny, and never forgot: "We're your worst nightmare: white trash with money!"

I laughed hard at that. It struck a nerve with a lot of middle and upper crust white people.

But they were WRONG. The Bush family is our worst nightmare: white trash with money. I thought so before I read The Family. The book only confirmed it for me. They are the most classless, clueless, insensitive group of people I have ever seen. Where do they get off, thinking they can run this country?

For the record, I live in a rural area that is mostly white, and hard-hit by job loss. Some people would call my neighbors white trash. Every last one of them has more dignity, class and empathy than the trashy Bush family. Several of them would make better Presidents, too.

3. My Mom said my Grandma used to call them "poor little rich folk"

meaning they may have money and big beautiful homes and jobs in high places but they lack having a heart filled with compassion, understanding and goodness. Most of the time, their "friends" are only there for what that money can do for them. Those rich families really lack what matters in life.

4. America's Social Elite are basically all white trash

It even goes back to the Civil War. In the South they were very much into aristocracy based on heritage, linage and breeding and not money based. In the north, high society meant "money". Unfortunately, on both sides it was the common, poor son of a bitch who went out and died for both useless pieces of shit. And to this day, the common moron still can't figure that out.

and poor white trash folks! Often one in the same...but not always! I live in georgia...in an old neighborhood in brunswick...i am white and live in a predominantly black..working poor neighborhood..white folks who are not white trash...think i am excentric and a little nuts to live where i do...and they might be somewhat right about the excentric and nuts part...but the nice thing about where i live...is that u never see white trash folks here..once in a while someone will come in to clean up a rental house...ha! But they are sooooooo out of place here....all the red necked white trash folks live just outside the county...so that they dont have to deal with us folks here in the city...which is fine with all of us! White trash is a state of mind...and a culture of folks who u can spot a mile away..ha! lasdt week i saw one of my neighbors at a big lots store..buying up every tooth brush he could find there...he is poor...lives from pay check to pay check...but he bought these to send to the hurricane evacuees..later in the day, i was at my insurance office...several whte..working class women were there...chatting....they were angry..angry about how horribly the evacuees were treated...they were pissed....and talking about what they could do to help. "White Trash" is a state of mind.
