Trash MS and Gates for their business practices but Gates has given away billions over the years and will give away more billions.

I would imagine the original donation was meant to spur other companies and foundations into giving.

Sure, Bill Gates could buy every displaced person a new home and give them a job but all people of means need to help, not just the one rich guy.
