American people have to ask themselves: "Is this the best we can do?"

Our entire government on vacation in August. Nobody minding the store. All of them out campaigning to keep their cush jobs in the House and Senate. Collecting money from all those special interests that are looking to the government to fill their pockets and make them rich. Is that the best we can do?

As our dead still lie ungathered 9 days later, and politicians snipe at each other, and citizens of New Orleans are scattered all over the country, divided from their surviving families. As our President cuts cake and gives speeches and plays guitar out in sunny California, as people are on their rooftops yelling for help, and he seems oblivious that it is even happening? Is this the best we can do?

As our so-called leaders look for ways to divide our people and our nation to their political advantage, our nation goes under. Where is the leader to console and unite our country in this time of grief? Is this the best we can do?
