They won't take us seriously until there are riots
Wasn't it Brownie who said something to the effect that as long as there were not riots - there wasn't a problem.

Is it enough to say to the rest of the world - "well- the election was stolen... we didn't vote for him - a majority didn't vote for them" - when there they are and here we are.

Quotes:
CNN Producer Kim Segal: It was chaos. There was nobody there, nobody in charge. And there was nobody giving even water. The children, you should see them, they're all just in tears. There are sick people. We saw... people who are dying in front of you....

<snip>

Brown: I've had no reports of unrest, if the connotation of the word unrest means that people are beginning to riot, or you know, they're banging on walls and screaming and hollering or burning tires or whatever. I've had no reports of that.

1. NO NO NO! that is WHAT THEY WANT!!! DON'T YOU GET IT?
don't even suggest that. They are trying to fabricate excuses to enforce martial law. Why do they have that damn sonic laser?

do not play into their evil hands.

2. I'm sure shrub
has special camps for rioters. He wants us to hit the streets. It would be "shoot on sight".

8. Unfortunately, I agree that they want riots.
The only "tool" they have or respect is the military. And they can only conceive of control by suppression.

15. The military
will have to be the ones...

They are the ones with the guns after all. And I don't mean the Pentagon. The ones with the guns are going to have to be the ones to see how fucked up it is.

6. Has The System Failed Us?
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 01:13 PM by CityZen-X
if your answer is yes, then what other recourse do we have? It may have to come to taking it to the streets by the millions. Exercise your 2nd amendment before that is taken from you too.

18. No... too many aren't using their power to change the system.
Discomfort is spreading, though... so I'm hopeful that more will be waking up to the fact that they have the power to change things.

7. No riots. We must have HUGE, peaceful, nonviolent --
marches -- week after week after week.

We have role models who have shown that this works - when the powerful strike out at peaceful protestors (like using dogs and firehoses on Civil Rights activists) then we change enough minds to tip the scale in our favor.

Peace.

9. I think that we are going to have to be stronger in our protests.
We will have to disrupt business as usual, which means we probably will have to break some laws. Protesting and sit-ins without permits will probably have to be done. This is in the spirit of Ghandi and MLK, which is why they were so effective. Rosa Parks and the lunch counter protesters technically broke the law, but that is why they were effective.

Well, I expect this post to be removed, but I hope enough activists read it to start planning civil disobedience. It's the only way we can beat them, by not cooperating with their rules and agenda. This is what Cindy Sheehan did and it was very effective.

13. sad fact is
they won't take you serious before rioting starts.

they want riots for excuses

people don't want that so nothing happens.

seems the only thing that will end this adm will be a military mutiny.

until then people will piss of bush in the free-speech-zones

14. The point is not to accept being herded into free-speech zones
anymore. Yes, they will do things to you, pepper spray, water dousing, but you aren't going to be effective until you disrupt business as usual. This is why Cindy Sheehan was so effective. She placed herself in front of Bush's property, without a permit, and there were threats of arrests, which were eventually worked out. But she sure made Bush look like the ass he is and she ruined his vacation and that's what you have to do. You have to be that itch that can't be scratched to gain relief.

Gives them a great excuse to lock us all up.

Don't take the bait.

19. Unfortunately, I think you're right.
Civil unrest is always the biggest fear of our military/industrial complex.

Right now, I would bet our poor black urban communities are a tinderbox waiting for the spark. I'm just trying to figure out which city will burn first. I am betting on my home city of Los Angeles, but I think Atlanta or Washington, DC could be candidates too.
