If a guy was put in suspended animation in 1998... |
|
and woke up in 2005.
And he was told about how America has devolved into what it is today, this guy would probably have a heart attack from the shock.
Agree or disagree?

There is not one person that could seriously say we're better off now than we were in 1998.

September 8th, 1998: St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Mark McGwire breaks baseball's single season homerun record, formerly held by Roger Maris. McGwire hits #62 at Busch Stadium in the fourth inning off of Chicago Cubs pitcher Steve Trachsel.
Google founded the day before.
Economy was booming, and even though the Lewinsky scandal was at full swing, people were happy with the direction of the country and Clinton had a high approval.
Compare that with today.

Now, we gotta figure out how to work it. Damn. I haven't felt this way in years. Not since 9/11.

11. Either that or that he had stepped into an alternate universe. |
|
I often feel that way myself. Did I get sucked into a quantum shift into a different universe that the one I started out in?

13. I didn't see the movie yet... |
|
but it reminds me of the Ray Bradbury story, "A Sound of Thunder." Did someone go back and step on a butterfly or something?
