7. There's no truth to it whatsoever. It's a proven hoax.

The proof is in the puddin'. The hoaxter was railing about needing his IBM 5100 computer to fix the 2038 issue with the Unix operating system.

The problem with that tale is the fact that the 2038 issue only exists within 32 bit version of Unix. It is not an issue with 64 bit versions of Unix.

64 bit Unix is nearly the standard today. In fact, 32 bit versions of the OS are woefully inadequate and obsolete these days.

Even Linux runs on 64 bit processors with 64 bit versions, and Windows is moving thin the same direction.

Once you blow away the story about the 5100 computer, the rest of the story crumbles.

Then we've had a real problem here for some time now. Sophisticated totalitarian psyops? Social engineering? A PNAC sponsored controlled social experiment? Anything but time travel. The Vulcan High Command has determined that time travel is impossible.
