Make Kyra Phillips pay.
http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form4.html?16

We need to swamp CNN with complaints. She attacked Pelosi, per orders from KKKarl.

1. No she didn't!
The other side can't stand for their pols to be questioned and whine whenever they don't come off well. I'd like to think Progressives expect their side to walk the walk and be able to handle hard questions.

45. You need to see the video
you also need to remember that it was July of 2004 that the Hurricane Pam simulation was run. They ran the simulation, discovered exactly what they had to do and then asked for federal assistance in funding it. Well their funding got CUT. IIRC it went towards the Iraqi reconstruction fund. You know the one that "misplaced" 8 BILLION dollars. Pelosi was doing her best to explain this to a hostile interviewer, who didn't want to hear it and who was acting like she was guesting on The Situation Room not anchoring a news show.

40. SHE DID NOT.....at first I thought she was defending Bush, but she
is just tired of it all...just like the rest of us. She is a Dem that is sick, like many of us here, of our Democratic Leaders sitting on their hands, until the next disaster or war happens. She said we need to care for the poor, and straighten all this shit out. And she made it clear in her tone, that she definately was not on BUSH's payroll. Listen to what she is saying....dont be stupid

50. Agree with No Attack
She was angry and too heated, but I believe from frustration of the situation. It really seemed like she was trying to prompt Nancy Pelosi not to stop at FEMA, to go on up to the WH in condemnation.

I think both of them were came in a bit on edge. Apparently Kyra has been a tool in the past, and so Pelosi expected a bit of a fight and was ready to call someone on the BS apologists in the media. I imagine Kyra was having a hard time working around to being non-confrontational with a Dem?

Once they'd gotten past the bit where Kyra said something like "definitely not defending the WH here" and THEN (much more notably in my view) that "no one at CNN is on the Gov't payroll ANYMORE!!!!" they were fine. Kyra let Pelosi get thru points without interruption, in case the rest of you all hadn't noticed.

23. My Base Program Is An Old Version Of Photoshop (6) and I Use.
Ulead Gif Animator which was a free download. I registered it and sent them some money. I like it a lot. It was easy to fiddle with and get a quick understanding of.

Of course Photoshop takes some more time. I have been using it for 11 years now (same version actually) and I didn't really take off skill wise until I started pounding on Bush.

Great fun! I highly recommend ypu get both and play a bit! Some think (and post) that these graphics make no difference. I doubt that. Political cartooning is old and effective. We could always use more troops!

Kyra Philips while interviewing Congresswoman Pelosi today was totally partisan and unprofessional. Apparently GOP Party loyalty is loyal even unto death, not their own deaths mind you but the deaths of innocent others. Nancy Pelosi is ABSOLUTELY right Bush is DANGEROUS. Are you out of your mind to think that Bush's question of "what didn't go right?" is acceptable given the fact that Americans died from lack of water and medical care while others suffered needlessly due to the colossal failure of the Federal Government. Bush not only failed to act like a President, he failed to act like a human. And, just out of curiousity, what did Kyra mean by this "No one at CNN is on the White House payroll right now."

18. I thought "kicked" meant voted for greatest page-- to get
maximum readership. I have seen people say "kicked" and 0 votes for greatest page shows up.
When I say done, and kicked, I mean that I voted the poll, and voted for greatest page.
Anyway, I just voted this post up, as I saw the horrible display by Kyra (she was so fond of herself, she couldn't stand it that Nancy had mispronounced her name with a long I--like who does she think SHE is anyway) and feel we all should respond to her nastiness with Pelosi.

28. i called cnn when kyra was screaming over pelosi..i was furious
well at the time i had a reporter sitting at my kitchen table , for something else..and when it was on i asked the reporter to hold on a second while i watched, as i wanted to hear what pelosi had to say...to my horro i watched this female hack scream over a congress person i wanted to hear...it was the worst display of journalism(??) i have ever seen...i was livid..so i called cnn right then and there..well one must go through all kinds of prompts to speak to a human being, and i did that and waited on hold...
when the guy answered i asked ..who was that woman who was questioning pelosi...well i don't normally watch cnn or fox any longer so i didn't know who this little witch was...so i politely asked who she was, and then i said i was appalled by this young womans screaming at an elected congresswoman...the guy hung up on me!!!!!!!!!

well the teporter sitting at my kitchen table was astounded so she asked for the cnn number and she proceeded to call cnn as well...she went through all the prompts same as me..when the guy asnwered the phone she said she just watched the host to cnn question nancy pelosi...and she began to say something else and was hung up on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

obviously cnn was not going to take negative calls ...no matter how polite...

well the reporter is going to now attempt to add this into one of her columns...about censorship! and the lies and censorship of this admin and now cnn!!

we must now keep up the heat..this little twit shall not be allowed to do this to our representative...this was totally out of line..who is this little witch..and who the hell does she think she is to scream over pelosi...this is not acceptable not today , not tommorrow , and not next year..this should see this gal in an unemployment line!

and it is encombant for all of us to keep up the heat..we need to be on over drive on this..

never in my 54 years have i ever seen anything like what i saw today with that little fucking witch! who the hell did she think she was..????

i have met many senators and congress people in my life, i can not even think of any time i would speak to anyone with the tone this little pig used with pelosi...

on either side...of the isle...

i was yelling to pelosi/..walk away tell her to go to hell and walk away...

yes pelosi stood her ground..but to allow herself to be spoken to in the tone this little witch spoke to her..well that was inexcusable...

i would have told her to fuck off and walked off and told her to stuff it!

I missed this today, but would have loved to see it. When many DUers were praising her 'righteous indignation' the other day, I reminded them that in July she had defended Rove, and stated on air that "this is obviously just a 'smear job'." Against Rove! Here's a link to that (I'm sure there were many other threads) Her characteristics, partisianship, and qualifications were discussed. I did send an email to CNN and received the usual automated non-response.

I guess I missed the Rove thread.. I just watched the clip (Shouts to Crooks And Liars, you are the best!) and was frankly... fucking stunned. OMG she was damn near screaming at Pelosi. What a hack shill she is. My heart leaped when Pelosi called her ass on it, ""Kyra...Kyra....Kyra, if you are going to offer the White House position, you ought to get on their payroll" OMG, at that point Kyra started yelling, and then at the end of the segment Lyra had to mention that CNN and no one at CNN was on the WH payroll. It was beautiful. Pelosi never got upset, never raised her voice, she was a true statesman.

47. Here is what I sent.
Kyra Philips' interview with Congresswoman Pelosi was astoundingly partisan and utterly unprofessional. Bush's question "What didn't go right?" is indicative of his total disconnect from reality. I have disagreed with his policy making in the past. Now I sincerely question his sanity. Bush's behavior in the last ten days is not only unpresidential but inhuman. I would very much like to know what Ms. Phillips meant by "No one at CNN is on the White House payroll right now." At what point did CNN have personnel on the White House payroll?

49. My first email to a network (critiques welcome)...
Dear CNN ,

I want to commend CNN on its top-notch coverage of hurricane Katrina. Since the storm struck, I've been glued to cable TV news and have turned to CNN first because I consider the reporting to be riveting and honest. Specifically, Anderson Cooper, Jack Cafferty, Christianne Amanpour have realized that THE STORY to report is the horror of the federal government's lazy response to the disaster. I completely TRUST them as much as I would my own eyes and ears on the scene. Even Wolf Blitzer today honestly conceded the truth on air when he corrected himself by saying, "...Bush's supposedly delayed response, or I should say it's been established that his response was actually delayed..." (paraphrased)

However, during the afternoon hours I find myself turning away from CNN to MSNBC whenever Kyra Phillips hits the airwaves. Her obsessive and off-putting harping early on about the New Orleans' "looter" problem demonstrated a detachment from reality that was unbearable to me as a viewer. Today (9/08/2005) her rambling/ranting interview with Nancy Pelosi angered me so much I had to write a comment tonight. Kyra was not being merely a devil's advocate when she went on an absurd, straw-grabbing defense of the Bush administration's mismanagement of Katrina relief. I'm not accusing her of being partisan, but Kyra's interview (or quasi-monologue) exposed her as a journalist unable to judge the difference between trying to appear unbiased vs. facing facts that that are intuitively obvious to the casual viewer. Her defense of the Bush administration was over the top and disturbing. I think she was trying to sincerely highlight different perspectives, but frankly, she appeared clueless. Thankfully, Nancy Pelosi wisely asked Kyra to "settle down" and focus on what's important and obvious to your viewers. People from New Orleans are still dying... that is an indefensible situation.

Maybe Kyra should spend some time watching and taking notes of CNN's excellent coverage before and after her on-air shifts. Or better yet, maybe Kyra could be assigned to relieve Anderson Cooper in the field for a few days to gain some needed perspective that would better serve your viewers when she speaks to them about Katrina in the future.

Sincerely,

Me

52. Here is my email:
Kyra Phillips' ultra partisan attack of Nancy Pelosi could not be described as journalism. It was as if she were being interviewed by Karl Rove, Scott McClellan, or Rush Limbaugh. Is CNN a partisan spin machine or a news organization? It is not unreasonable to expect a reputable news organization to treat the House Democratic leader with some degree of respect.

Is it the policy of CNN to aggressively prevent the opposition party leader from saying anything critical of the Bush administration? Whose interests would that serve?

She should give a sincere on air apology for her conduct.
