Possible strategy - Dem leaders to go on offensive -
organize a series of brief newsconferences each day, using the DEM talking points (direct refutes/opposite of the Repug/Rovian points - we've outlined them many times on DU, and Jon Stewart similarly laid out the big picture the last two nights) - start telling and retelling the story in digestible pieces, hammer on the timeline and Bush inaction....all the while getting other notable Dems to visibly join in the rescue mission (to avoid potential criticism of not solving the problem but only "blaming") - the key word is OFFENSIVE - to take away any potential power of the Rove spin cycle.

I just think we are on the cusp of tipping over the cow at last (or they pigs!), and need to be aggressive. I didn't watch Pelosi on CNN, but it seems as though momentum may be shifting.
