so who remembers when we were dropping food in Afghanistan
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 03:34 PM by LSK
Shortly after we invaded in 2001. It made all the news headlines how we were dropping crates of food there. I guess Afghans are more important than Americans.

1. Yes and there was
a problem with the food packets looking like something else that was explosive. I can't remember right now but we sure as hell did drop them food.

3. Yep, food packets were the same color as cluster bomblets
Wotta hoot! Them dumb Afghanis, starving and war ravaged, venturing out to get what they think is a food packet, only to have it blow up in their hands! That's American-style democracy, delivered hot and noisy.

I feel more and more like Travis Bickle every day. This is not good.

They were the same color orange. Against the Geneva conventions. I know so what else is new?

5. Yep, also the Berlin Airlift
is a good model for how this might have been handled better.

That was in 1949!! Apparently the morons in the Bush White House got D's and F's in history.

6. Hate to break the news but they probably got the same "air drops"...
...as the Katrina victims got. It was just feel good bullshit. Those people all probably starved to death.

7. i wouldn't doubt it now
Back then I was drinking a little of their kool-aide, however DU and the Iraq invasion certainly fixed that. Now I'd believe anything was a setup or PR job.
