KANYE: 'I warned Myers + Tucker about my telethon comments'

KANYE: 'I WARNED MYERS + TUCKER ABOUT MY TELETHON COMMENTS'

LATEST: Rapper KANYE WEST insists he didn't leave comics MIKE MYERS and CHRIS TUCKER stranded when he strayed from his script to blast GEORGE W BUSH at last week's (02SEP05) Hurricane Katrina telethon - he warned them of his plans to ad-lib.

...

He says, "I told Mike Myers I'm going to ad-lib a little bit and then I remember going up to Chris Tucker and saying, 'Get ready for live TV.'"

West feels he has been unjustly criticised by the media for his passionate comments.

He adds, "It's been a lot of pressure for one human being... (but) there was so many things that I had been hearing and bullet points that I had been hearing that weren't on those teleprompters."

6. yes he surely did.
Right after West said 'George Bush doesn't care about black people."
his look was one of shock and awe.

I loved what Jon Stewart did with it on "The Daily Show."

he plays the thing straight through.
he says 'NBC edited it for the WEst Coast Broadcast:
West says "President bush..." and a voice clearly not west's goes ...'Cares about everyone!"

it's not paranoia when they're rally out to get you...

8. It's always funny seeing comics get stunned by others' antics.
For a moment the cool veneer disappears and they become slack-jawed viewers. This incident reminded me of when Vanilla Ice went berserk and Jeneanne Garafalol and John Stewart looked scared. Hilarious.

5. I wish I could tell him
Don't listen to the criticism. Look where it's coming from. Thank you for saying it, Kanye--we all wanted to.
