The Rampant Distractions.
Weather control. Concentration Camps. The continuation of the Third Reich. Lies about rape, murder and other violence. The media not being allowed into NO. Genocide. Black Ops starting fires.

Those are just a few distractions that are seriously overloading DU and I wonder why.

The whole freaking world saw the Cake-eating-fake-guitar-playing-vacation is my middle name-Brownie you're doin' a heck of a job-jackass FUCK UP!

They are Plutocrats. They are Liars. They are Thieves. They are Incompetent. They are Racist. The entire Republican agenda and bills that have been signed by Dumbshit over the last five years proves this.

But there is no Grand Unified Conspiracy of White People (and including such non-whites like the black eyewitnesses, a black Mayor, a black Chief of Police and even Oprah) who are lying about violence and are carrying out some worldwide plan to rid great beach front property of black folks to put up Whites Only condos.

Of course there is racism involved in poverty in America and the reason why so many black Southerners were the victims of this disaster.

I live in the Deep South and I'm sorry so many DUers are just now getting how bad things were down here before Katrina. But I am glad that now the whole world, including the UN is pointing out how shameful and unacceptable that should have been in the richest, most powerful country on Earth.

There is enough wrong with the Republican agenda as witnessed by their complete disarray that no conspiracies needed. They failed on TV.

3. I've kicked it too.
I haven't seen the light. I've seen how very murky the truth is.

2. Amen, Ripley.
Those pushing conspiracy theories have their own interests at heart. Their links with the far-right should be enough to alert most DUers.

9. It's precisely that kind of manichean approach that they thrive on.
I take it that you are a conspiracy theorist?

17. Yes, they are agents of the far right, whether they know it or not.
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 06:32 PM by Taxloss
They willingly, happily and frequently link to far-right websites, parrot their theories, and indulge in "soft" antisemitism. They are also complicit in slowly destroying the credibility of DU, which should be and has been a wonderful information resource.

20. no
not all conspiracies theories are equal: many contradict one another, so I find it difficult to direct outrage at all of them, or most of them, for that matter

21. Well, I'm sorry to have included you in the hard core.
Because there is a hard core of conspiracy theorists on DU, and their agenda is ultra-rightwing.

13. I don't understand your meaning?
They didn't ACT because they have no leadership in charge of ACTING. FEMA has been destroyed by politics.

Do you really think all FEMA employees are racist and held back to kill poor people in NO?

15. No
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 06:31 PM by Horse with no Name
MANY here are convinced the President and FEMA deliberately left out the areas to be hit by the hurricane so that FEMA could not act.

I believe that this was a disastrous failure of leadership that will be followed by a cover up of gargantuan proportions. That's my conspiracy theory, however, I do believe that racism was key in the execution of this.
