Fly Your Flag
Please join us in this FLY THE FLAG campaign and PLEASE forward this message immediately to everyone in your address book asking them to also forward it. We have a little more than one week to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America. If you forward this email to least 11 people and each of those people do the same...you get the idea.

THE PROGRAM IS THIS: On Sunday, September 11th, 2005, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their
duty to display an American flag on this fourth anniversary of our country's worst tragedy. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.

Action Plan: So, here's what we need you to do...

(1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11 people).
Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.

(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.
Thank you for your participation. God Bless You and God Bless America.

1. Maybe we should fly the flags upside-down?
It would make a stirring protest of this administration on 9/11...

54. I was getting ready to say the same thing....
During the first gulf war I flew the American flag every single day in support of our troops.

Al thought I stillsupport all of our troops, and I feel for those effected by the tragedy of 9/11, I will never fly the flag again until the current administration is gone!

If I do IT WILL be upside down!
Because this country is in distress.!

I flew a big ol' flag down at Camp Casey and was proud of it. Why let the FReepers steal that flag from us?

My soul tells me not to do it. If I did, it would have to be upside down because we are in distress.

Also, I consider Katrina and bush's unwillingness to respond and the horrific aftermath to be this country's worst disaster ever.

31. The Gadsden Flag has always been my fav flag
To me it represents a true symbol of America as it was flown originally as a protest or a defiance flag against the then English imperialists.

39. At this point...
Flying the US flag is the equivalent of running out a white flag to tell the jingoistic, nationalistic right that I've given in. I'd like to take it back, but that's going to be done when the flag comes to symbolize something good, not when I just fly it for the hell of it.

(thanks for the welcome, btw ;-))

I fly our state flag (Maryland) and have not flown the American flag since election day. Hopefully one day I will again feel proud of our country and then I will eagerly fly the flag. I doubt it will happen before this f*cker leaves the White House.

I agree with others that, right now, flying the flag is seen as supporting Bush and the war. And that is a statement I refuse to make.

sorry dude.......
I staunchly REFUSE to fly the flag. The Flag to me represents the most reprehensible government officials this country has ever seen, nothing else. Flame me if you want, but I have personal integrity, there is BLOOD all over that symbol and I won't participate. I may fly it upside-down and at half-staff, if I can keep my Asshat Neighbors from trying to steal it...along with my First Amendment Rights. If you are contemplating flying the flag, I think you should think very hard about exactly what it represents RIGHT NOW.

So fly it in the face of the FReepers and keep smiling!!!
