FEMA CURBS its Debit Card Program....On CNN NOW...Unbelievable!
Just reported that ONLY those in the ASTRODOME who've not received checks yet will be able to do so. All others will be mailed checks, even though they have no physical address!! Sounds like the doctors haven't had any trouble cashing in on FEMA. Why not thos who obviously need it most?

2. Yea, I just heard that! Had so much trouble with the Debit cards!
What kind of trouble did they have with the debit cards that a check is going to cure?

Do any of these idiots realize how hard it is to get a check cashed if you don't have a bank account?

Funk*ng unbelievable!!!!

3. Mailed????
Last night I turned on the TV, and it was on our local Fox affiliate, which happened to be showing "A Current Affair."

The woman on it was doing a report while on hold with FEMA (they never answered) and played audio of a woman who waited in the sun for five hours to give her information to a FEMA agent.

When she got to the front of the line, the guy asked her for her fax number. She replied, "Fax number? I don't have a fax number! I don't have anything!"

He said, "How about your email address?"

She was livid.

5. Why oh why didn't they just give the cards to the Red Cross or Houston
or even Gen Honere to hand out. These fucks can't do shit right.

6. Sounds like the complaints on DU were heard
For reasons I cant fathom, a number of folks on DU were complaining about the $2k debit card. I hope they are satisfied now

This was a good program, pity some whiners ruined it.

7. Wow, we stopped the debit cards unbelievable! How come BFEE exists?
FEMA is still trying to cause riots by doing this. It still won't work but they obviously intend to keep trying.

Debit cards in the hurricane zone are unusable. As soon as they were
announced merchants fell all over themselves saying they wouldn't accept them. Nobody would say if cash could be drawn on them but those who got them COULDN'T LEAVE THE SHELTERS.

A piece of plastic you may not be able to use in any meaningful way is not a good exchange for 5 months of your life living in a fishbowl.

8. Never said it was
"A piece of plastic you may not be able to use in any meaningful way is not a good exchange for 5 months of your life living in a fishbowl."

But having $2k as a cushion is better than poking yourself in the eye.
