fffffing Kerik coming up on Dobbs: why is this guy given a huge platform?
I don't get it. He's been on several shows recently. See today's thread on Tweety's fellat-eo, for example.

Has anybody given him the slightest contretemps when he comes on?

do they bring up the fact that he's under criminal investigation, or mention that his nomination was quickly pulled because of what a sleazy creep he is?

why is this guy being given airtime, and being treated as if he's Rudy Giuliani, instead of his corrupt acolyte?

BTW, Dobbs teased the appearance by saying that Kerik will bring the goods on just how corrupt/inept/blameful the LOCAL/STATE governments are in the Katrina fiasco?

Any guess on whether Dobbs will treat him with the skepticism he usually reserves for those on the "far" left, like, oh, say Evan Bayh, for example....not to say he tweeked Bayh, but what dems ever get on his show that are any farther to the "left" than he is?

19. Dobbs has been blaming local NOLA authorities ALL WEEK
Lou Dobbs, as expected, is sticking to his Republican friends.

HE won't incriminate Bush or FEMA, even though it was THEIR FREAKIN' RESPONSIBILITY to act in a national catastrophe.

Lou Dobbs is an asswipe.

10. how ironic that would be....you realize what job he was nominated for....
originally, and stepped down after the good old (fabricated?) nanny story, which headed off serious investigation into just HOW crooked this guy is....as Hunter Thompson, I think, once described somebody:

he screws his pants on?

I NEED to have some media flack go AFTER this guy, and ask him to defend his serial corruption before he can lay claim to any sort of credibility on ANY subject

remember how one of the 911 commissioners (a repuke, btw?) described Keriks's performance in the immediate aftermath?

wonder if Dobbs will bring THAT up

Kerik is MORE despicable than Ollie North, if that's possible

11. Lordy, hedda, it's Kerik. Kerrick is the good guy who ratted out BushInc
on 9-11 when he said the Clinton WH had an intense focus on terror while there was NO FOCUS on terror in Bush's WH.

We definitely don't want to mix those two up.

8. found THIS on an excellent "more than you wanted to know about Kerik" page
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 05:50 PM by Gabi Hayes
http://www.flyingsnail.com/Dahbud/041220dahmain.html

I sure wish somebody would ask him about this amazing coincidence:

''Bernard Kerik who was handed Atta's passport by someone not named yet, of which Kerik stated "Apparently, it must have fallen into the air just as the crash occurred, surviving the almost 1000 degree heat of the fire, then came across a strong wind to blow it several blocks away." With loose papers between the pages of the passport even surviving the gusts. ''

!!!!!!!

anybody else know about that one?

links between Kerik and at least 911 MIHOP:

http://www.flyingsnail.com/Dahbud/keriktest.html

EDIT: on now.

he just called him a "GREAT hero of 911!!!!"

he should be made to answer for why he pulled his own nomination, rather than being subject to ANY questions about his very very shady past

I will NEVER listen to Dobbs again, if he treats Kerik the way he seems to promise: as HERO of 911!!!! those are the EXACT words of Dobbs' latest tease

matter of fact, I won't even watch....I'll get either a stroke or aneurism if I watch.

with the media, using people who are so discredited? Maybe it is just me, but I'm thinking there are hundreds of intelligent, insightful men and women who we should be hearing from. Even if their opinions are very different than our own, there are honest and honorable voices of reason out there.

28. one of the very few, and probably the ONLY one from AEI, is Norm
Ornstein, and he's only on very infrequently, mostly on AEI sponsored bits that CSPAN shows

it's very difficult to come up with many names of those on the right {usually far right, as the dialogue shifts farther and farther fascistwise} that don't end up spouting the pugline at some point, sacrificing whatever credibility they may have had in service to the
"greater goal" of party purity

who's out there?

Ron Paul

Richard Brookhiser

David Brooks===I KNOW that's only temporary, but he was pretty POd last week, for the most part

who else?

Buchanan....but he ALWAYS reverts back

Andrew Sullivan----same as Brooks, only not quite as smarmy

and you're totally correct on Ghouliani. he must be sh********** bricks every time he sees Kerik, cause SOME day, SOMEbody's going to connect the dots, and start axing about their mating habits (with each other; not the extracurricular salami-hide)

to call him a hero of 911 goes WAY WAY WAY beyond the pale. Dobbs usually has a few facts at his command, and for him to completely ignore the humiliating scene devolving around BK's nomination getting pulled just made me resolve to never, ever watch Dobbs again.

he was beginning to act, on occasion, like a real journalist, but something happened, especially lately

somebody got to him, one way or the other

42. On Dobbs
What happened is people started confronting the racism and Lou Dobbs could not accept it. I don't remember exactly when the turning point was, a few days ago, but it was abrupt and came about when racism was mentioned. He brought it up to Jesse Jackson and then I think to John Lewis the next day. It was sort of obsessive with him. So now he's back into defend conservatism mode. Kerik, he was just a shit talking about New York's response and the local mayor being in charge. What he ignores is that the entire city of New York wasn't under water with NO other cities close by. I was surprised he had Kerik on too, but I guess Dobbs will go to any length to avoid talking about race.

Did you see John Edwards on Aaron Brown? He was superb, and they did talk about race and the fact that the infant mortality rate in DC is worse than Beijing.

that was the easyout, so he wouldn't have to own up to the real, actual corruption into which they were about to delve.

that's why he'll never pass muster for any Senate-approved appointment, and why Ghouliman must be cringing when he sees him out there, unless, of course, he keeps getting the kid glove treatment

39. Must have a job with CNN as a "commentator"
on security issues. My guess: the contract kicked in on Sep 1. Isn't it about a year since his disgrace? (Nine months actually. Rushin it.)

I guess since he escaped having to own up to any hankypanky (since he declined the nomination for DHS,) the rehabilitation period was shortened.

They only like to hire their cronies, so they would MUCH rather have a disgraced "expert" with name recognition than a new face who could screw up and make them look bad. One more reason the mainstream media sux so bad right now. They are WAAAAAAAAYYY conservative, both politically and philosophically. Not good for the country. We need more risk takers and true populists in the media, we're dyin out here. The media's populism consists of talking down to us and drenching us in sex at the same time.
